Yes, but what HAPPENED? Did any single person on this forum get banned as a result of it? That's all I'm curious about. Not pro staff or pro-shadowboard ... just curious what the outcome was. Or do we even know? It's possible someone gets banned and says, "screw them" and just goes on with life and we never find out. As a result of the pixel tracking? Probably, from the first time around. dunebum did you ever receive any PMs from shik? Yes it was when I checked my PM's due to the forum post noting you had found weirdness. Shik had "welcomed me to the shadowboard" via a PM and the signature had a broken [/img]WARNINGTRACKINGLINK link in it.

That stuff was going on a bit before you joined these forums. Eigher nergal quit, or more likely, the tracking was detected and whoever it was stopped doing it.

A while back during the Nyr era, people started complaining about the high frequency of bans. So many players got banned by Nyr after running afoul of him that there was a kind of mini-revolt. Staff decided to tone down the bannings, but instead they shifted to a new practice of essentially running players off the game by targeting them with all kinds of scrutiny and disproportional punishments. Perceived pariahs would find that NPCs got animated to try and kill them, denial of any requests more significant than joining a clan forum, karma dock/lock, removal of guild options, etc. That way, Nyr could get rid of players he didn't like without technically banning them. IMO, this is why we see 20 players instead of 70, now. Fuck Nyr
