Regardless of why Nyr left it's obviously what a lot of people on this board wanted. You could view this as a victory. But it isn't. Not yet. In fact theres a risk of massive fail.
If a surge of veterans return to the game and it begins to prosper in Nyr's absence there will be undeniable proof he was part of the problem. If there isn't a surge of returning players it will prove the opposite, that people liked to whine about Nyr but he wasn't the real problem.
Curious to see what happens.

Adhira's always been polite and motherly(I guess?), but she's always struck me as distant - almost like it's a bit of a chore to be there on occasion. I dunno. Maybe she's a lot more active than she seems. She's not. When she does respond to things, it's as blandly as possible, and always according to whatever will take the least amount of work or effort to resolve. She does not give a shit about you. She doesn't really want to be there. But she's got nothing else to do. She began as really nothing more than a glorified builder and rose through the ranks by process of attrition. She has however, lingered on from one 'regime' to the next, serving as a facilitator or occasionally, a heat shield. Because no one wants to rip on sweet old, motherly cat lady Adhira, even if she's probably done as much (or more) to contribute to the rot as Nyr ever did, through her sheer apathy.

Adhira has always been kind to me and helped my characters do their thing throughout the years. I'm sure she has her times where she is more or less engaged with the game. I couldn't work on anything for that long without having periods of burnout. Maybe you interacted with her during the bad times. My interactions with her have been positive.

Maybe people not returning will be perceived that way but tbh I expect numbers will remain the same because most vets moved on with their life, either to other muds and games or rl stuff, and thr well is pretty poisoned for other players looking to join the game.

I never had a problem with Adhira when I played, and if I ever had any interactions with Nyr, they weren't memorable.
Still, this is an interesting turn of affairs simply because it's likely to stir some interest in the game again. I'm even tempted to check it out and I never really had a problem with staff beyond some of the horror stories that get passed around.
But I guess the game kind of died for me when Shalooonsh left. I haven't had much interest in coming back, since.
