It's not funny at all, but it's obviously a "joke". See my previous reply. "In all seriousness,...and the crafting thing did break." malken you're a pretty funny guy, i hear you do standup comedy irl, up there with guys like gabriel dangerfield, so maybe you can explain the fundamentals of "jokes" to me because apparently i have borat-level understanding of jokes. what part of "in all seriousness" and "the crafting thing did break" screams out to you that this is a ha-ha funny? "Sounds like a guy who can't handle being wrong very well" Come on, fellas. Take a breath. Stop jumping to extremes. |

Okay, I will try to explain it -very- slowly to you, please stop me when you don't understand something.. A "joke" reply is a reply that you are not serious about, it doesn't mean hah-hah funny, it just means that you're giving a "silly" or "exaggerated" or again attempting to be "funny". Saellyn asked a question regarding an echo in the game that was sent by a Staff member by mistake "Shamin | Shamin", kinda like the popular "You start dragging a corpse to the west" that was sent to all the players a few years ago. So since it was a dumb mistake made by an admin and that Saellyn also knew it was definitely a mistake, Nyr responded with something "silly" instead of just saying "It was a Staff mistake.", then there was a bug with the crafting code that wasn't related to that event, so people couldn't craft for a while until a Staff realized the bug and someone proceeded to fix it rather quickly. So "the crafting did break", but instead of saying the crafting did break in his original answer 10 minutes prior, Nyr didn't realize that some of you would take all of his words so seriously and do a 10 pages essay on a forum leading to an anti-spamming conspiracy as it did yesterday and continues to this day. So he made a "joke" reply. I guess there's no punchline but it's still technically a joke reply.

Stop jumping to extremes. what implies that I can't handle being wrong? it was a joke, i 100% admit that it is a joke and clarified now. personally i don't really give two shits either way because i don't play and wasn't vested in it the first place, but i think it's pretty obvious that it could be taken either way and was in no way the crystal clear statement that a guy who is personally upset with the person who brought it up thinks it is while screaming everyone who disagrees is pathetic. do you feel that this is an extremist response here or something |

Not really Malken, I didn't get it either. Just looked like gibberish reply to me because I lacked the contextual reference of whatever shamin is. Like I said, I wouldn't have said for someone to ask the staff if it was clear whether it was a joke or not. We now know the answer, stop calling me stupid =(
