I figured the closing has to do with the war.

Thing is, is that for a game like ArmageddonMUD to be successful, there needs to be a Veil of Secrecy between staff and players. Problem is, is when people /abuse/ this needed aspect of the game to further their own agendas in a nausea-inducing, easy-to-notice way. When you start exploiting that needed aspect of the game to cover your own ass, fit your own agenda... Whatever... Then you are fucking up. And misleading/lying/issuing half-truths to the playerbase about why X or Y is occurring - just because they don't have the ability to fact check your Joffrey ass, then well... I guess it isn't very surprising at the end of the day, considering other shenanigans. I agree there should be a veil of secrecy as far as story lines go and maybe some code stuff. But as far as opening and closing stuff in a way that seems willy nilly even after an official explanation....well it's more like the curtain in the wizard of oz.

I'm sorry I'm just glad there won't be any more Tuluki leaders trying to shape people into their version of what they believe Tuluki roleplay is. At least not until we all forget.

I'd like to suggest a change. Lets see all the tribal elves up north unite to take out the barbarian legion of Tuluk...and have everything north of Luir's be no man's land. Elves are shooting round ears down left and right(in between raping them obviously, and since there's no sexism in the game, that includes those women raping men), and encourage some racism that's actually backed up in how the game world acts.

Create an elven city state? That'd be cool.

Wouldn't even have to be a city state. You could keep them as a bunch of semi-feuding tribes that just bind together to wipe out when humans try to colonize the area. And I don't think big Tek would care all that much cause he'd probably be all for no other people being able to build up. But if they started building their own city-state, I think it wouldn't make sense for Tek to ignore it. Or his Red/Black robes.

Yep. I'm suggesting the feeling of the tablelands cover from Soh territory all the way up and over to ATV. Would be a lot of fun if everyone knew going to get those logs was going to be the same treatment as walking into the canyons to kill braxat. Expeditions with actual risk, without having to go up against mobs that have auto kill codes.
In other words...risk from other PCs raiding/etc.
I say this would be different from the tablelands, because lets be honest, you can avoid going into the tablelands unless you're wanting something very specific. And those things aren't even usually a NEED. This way, plenty of reason for people to risk interaction.

I think if the storytelling were handled in a better way people would be more willing to overlook code deficiencies. This is one of the reasons people won't bag on sanvean as much as other producers. Shit was going on story wise. Have it so every level of staff has to do at least one plot a month. I know they'll say they don't want monster of the week, but come on that's what people want. Make things happen in those corners of the world that people don't go. Have surprises for people that have the map. Right on. Players *are* making stories, staff just doesn't give two shits about their stories.
