No idea I've never used a crossbow before. The real question is how much damage can a crossbow with say a glass bolt (arguably the most damaging tip) do if you shoot them in the same room you're in? If you have master archery I would say that shit would do a lot of damage but I've never tested this and it's a good question. Yeah, I have no idea. Everyone I've asked has just never used crossbows, citing some unnamed veteran that said, "crossbows are shit use a bow". I kinda hope that's not the case. Crossbows are neat.

typical problem cited with crossbows is inability to use pull to reload. with a trigger or script you can get this to be decently fast, but not quite as fast. crossbows may take you less movement points to use though. other typical problem is the inability to craft crossbow bolts effectively from a wide range of ingredients like you can for arrows. financially ruinious for a hunter.
you don't learn using dartboards. this from staff.

Is throw worth it, if you have access to archery as well? In a word, YES. Trust me.

You can get decently proficient using darts and dartboards. Not sure if you can max throw but you do learn with them.

So you haven't actually tried it yourself but yet you accuse someone else of spreading false info? Interesting. Well about what staff says, several years ago they specifically stated warriors would not get backstab. Guess what? Things change.
I am guessing dartboards changed the moment they announced you could also train throwing on training dummies, which you could not before. It is probably a similar scrips for archery dummies and regular dummies so maxing a skill on them is not very likely but it helps early on. How do I know for SURE though? Because I've had several characters in the past go from novice to apprentice with throw on just dartboards alone. I've done the same on sparring dummies so its why I think its similar code now.
Again, things change. Test it out yourself.

I don't know how things work now with darts because I was always too busy chopping muthafuckaz up with bone swords, but in the days of yore playing a game of darts relied almost solely on your agility IIRC.
I'm more inclined to agree with barka in that I don't think playing a game of darts raises your skill. Just because you type >throw dart board doesn't mean you're using skill_throw.
You may be partially correct, but the way in which you drew a comparison was flatout ill-advised.
If you *really* play darts to raise your throw skill, I find that bad form, but I suppose that's neither here nor there.

People who have seen the code say it doesn't increase throw. Either way who gives a shit. It's not like if it does suddenly allanak is going to run out of darts and dartboards because ppl rush to buy them and put them in their apartments. Hell you can't even buy them anyway they're only in specific places throughout the game.

Eh I guess that's what happens when you haven't played in a few years.
I thought those kuraci warbows were 3 rooms. They certainly read like they are.

So one can't get to max using the dartboards, but can you learn at all by using them? I'm seeing conflicting answers in the above posts.

Dartboard probably now the same code the dummy use in a way, you aren't suppose to be mastering weapon skills or archery on the dummies after a certain point, the same goes for throwing. You can learn from both dummy and dartboard in the beginning but becomes useless afterwards. In the same way you won't be mastering weapons on skeets after you get to a certain point. Its not really complicated, but yes I've SEEN it go from novice to apprentice just on dartboard alone on a couple of different characters now. Besides actually makes sense you get a little better at throwing from using a dartboard and I believe when the dummy code was changed so you could learn from it, staff mentioned something about being able to learn from realistic things in a vague way. So its no real Sekret or a bug, it is intended.
Anyways doesn't matter, but try it out for yourselves someday you'll be in for a surprise.
