I'm creating an automatic Nyr GDB post generator. It doesn't have much variety right now, but as a little sneak peek, I'll share something it just spat out:

I understand that Celves are hard to play but let me give you this list of suggestions that I made up right on this spot despite never played anything more than flawless aides and buff warriors.
-Bribe! Bribe everyone! negating the fact coins have no value to most characters, and that you're all ready strapped for coin cause LOLZ XD celves don't leave the gates!
--Do a elf family role call, because people are just clammering to store so they can play a shitty race with 3 other people who will store/suicide two days played.
--Did I mention bribe templars with your non-existence income?
--Skill up Listen and keep gossip that everyone cares fuck all for, because they only communicate via way anyways.
--bribe merchant houses with your non existent income.
--Master Sneak/hide (nuff said)
--Solo rp only and don't bother any of the other races!

i'd just like to agree with everyone who agres with me. And for everyone disagreeng with me i have to say if you guys were ressting the urge to abuse listen we could BE THE CHANGe. As for everyone else, good and bad points, but were getting off topic. the topic at hand is my laying the groundwork for a run at joining staff. i have to make posts about "good" code changes to suggest i wouldnt manipulate or study the code to my benefit. And the benefit of my friends who won't find out ic about my tweaks. I'd just like to chime in and say that staff is doing an amazing job. Please remember that they're unpaid volunteers. I mean, really, UNPAID VOLUNTEERS. They're so fucking great, I'm so blessed to be part of this game. i can't like this post enough. I <3 those unpaid volunteers. i hope thy notice the "work" i am putting in now to suggest what a good little staffer Id be. So i can maximize my minmaxing/grinding or just give myself a boosted avatar. Or really just having an advantage ovr you peasants i want to be above. Because staffing is about attitude. |

all right, i hate to partially derail my own thread. But there's a 300 stone mekillot in the room i think we all arent talking about. We all know chargen is OP. people being able to pick what they are is terrible for role playng. Your name, background, age, and gender should be the only things you have accss to pick. Everythng else should be random. that way you have to improvise.
Edit: This has the added bonus in letting the staff make sure no group is overreprsented

Secretly, that was the whole point of the character generator I made. As it turns out, there simply wasn't enough VOLUNTEER coder time to tie it in. As it is, I still think it should be mandatory, and only the worst twinks would CHOOSE to play a minority race, or a karma guild MULTIPLE TIMES IN A ROW. Come on, play the majority, represent IC right, amirite? EVERY PC would be the lowest common denominator city-based human ranger (or warrior for militia/byn) in MY ZALANTHAS. |

I just want to say, I don't think listen is OP. Actually, I think we need ear-horns for a listen boost, because there is so much sneak boosting gear that once you get past journeyman, you can pretty much be a ghost anyhow. And since I've been playing this game for -TWENTY FIVE YEARS-... jesus has it been that long? I'm only thirty five! Anyhow, since I've been playing SINCE THE GAME STARTED, I know everything, and my position is unassailable.

You say listen is OP but this is flawed logic. my 100 day ranger can't even hear a hidden goudra fart 3 leagues (yes, 9 miles) away. Listen is obviously broken. IMMS! FIX IT NOW! Also, scan is broken. just rework the entire code database you slacktards. also, ffuck everyone with listen on all the time. you guys even RP bro?
