Staff efforts to combat twinking involve mostly a series of code/rule changes. This is bad policy. This merely encourages the twinks because you've given them a new puzzle to unravel. Most twinking is a result of immaturity on the part of the player (which corrects itself over time as individual players mature, but never really goes away because new teen-agers are constantly wandering in) or player bordedom, for which the solution is to make the game more fun. If the game were massively fun and character abilities were pretty much irrelevant to how much fun individual players were having, players would give up on twinking. That's better policy. One of the problems with Arm has always been what I call "redshirt" syndrome. You really don't want to be the character that gets one shotted on a rpt. You know that guy, good rper ten days played, gets one shotted by the big bad. So the next character, he focuses a little more on skills, because who wants to spend 240 hours of their life not being quite good enough? Now the problem for staff is you have a group of players that are hard to kill, so they beef up the big bads. Weakest man is a red shirt again.... See the problem? Nobody wants to be that guy. And if they do, it gets old fast and...nobody wants to be that guy. This also leads to people not wanting to take risks or participate in rpts. Not to mention there are certain circles where if you can't solo the tembo, wtf are you playing for? You're not worth their time....and that's just like being a redshirt.

This is a very good point, maybe if staff didn't think death = good rpt this wouldn't be such a problem.

If you're adventuring outside the walls a lot and you cannot solo a tembo after a certain amount of time played. I'd probably be like, hire a bodyguard who can. Yo.

I noticed that assassin gets Crossbow off of Sneak @ Master. (Not throw, because that would make too much sense.) That's the only one I noticed / can verify. No idea where it caps as I didn't use it. I think it was a good add though. Now it's not only rangers that can shoot people off their stools. On a related note, isn't it funny that they went through all the subs and basically gave you the skill tree of what branches where and how good the sub gets... but they didn't touch mains? I'm sure new players aren't curious at all what skills their main comes with, but fuck if they don't know their sub.

LOL yeah, good point. Don't even know how many hours I spent at the grind simply to have something to do. One of the problems with Arm has always been what I call "redshirt" syndrome. Not to mention there are certain circles where if you can't solo the tembo, wtf are you playing for? You're not worth their time....and that's just like being a redshirt. So true. But I think this reinforces my point - coded character abilities are far too central to how awesome your character is. If all characters ended up pretty much the same, people would twink less.
