Ehh, I mean... I think just staying away and letting the dust settle feels like the best thing to do right now.
And in the mean time, discussing some ways that the game might be improved, especially when you can have this discussion in a place where it's a little more chill, is probably actually productive and, like I've said a couple of times, healthy.

I disagree and believe that many of the problems are contemporary are relevant, like bias, prejudice, player abuse, whatever. Have you even read some of the posts on this board, man? Yes I have, and I played arm for over 10 years so I can remember when staff abuse was far worse than it currently is. I would take Nyr being rude over staff giving their mortal PCs new skills and items any day of the week. That makes one of us. Bhagharva used Ihsahnovision to kill my rebellion saboteur, but that pales in comparison to some shit like Vanth pulled or the way nyr fucking writes to people. I just think the staff avatar shit can be kinda funny at times. It truly never bothered me. Being treated shittily OOCly does, and it hasn't always been that way, so yes I resent it. |

What the hell ever... Let Halaster go do his thing in the fort. Great. He wasn't an asshole OOCly that I saw, at least not on the forums or with interpersonal communications. And he would like fuck with me as the Plainsman, which is way more fun than being fucked with OOCly or critiqued.
If letting Nyr play a badass sorcerer with his own fort makes him chillax, I'm all for it. Even let him play an un nerfed sorcerer. Whatever.

After having listened to Delerak's story about being targeted for NPC gank by Halaster/Nainona to install their own OOC friend into a leader position.... Yeah nope. No thanks.
Edit: this has happened to a degree recently. Staff do tend to get shitcanned after doing that.

Then you're letting what essentially amounts to trash talk affect you more than actions that can easily nullify and undo the work you put into the game. I would much rather deal with a cranky Nyr for one day than have to deal with losing a month-long PC to a staff member using the unfair advantage of being staff for personal gain. |

It's more than trash talk, it's OOC subjectivity that affects OOC and IC decisions.
The trash talk is a symptom of the disease.

More fundamentally, that for years you can go without problems from staff, but then one or two of them, who haven't even been playing as long as you, decide they don't like you, and then it's a shitshow where they are picking apart your actions, fucking with your submissions, OOCly criticizing you... The list goes on.

Weird story.
I had a character die recently.
He fell in a hole, crawled out, bam, there was a raptor. And he fought it for a long time, killed it, then almost immediately slept due to below regen HP.
When he slept, bam, dead.
IF this was a gith NPC, wouldn't it have auto joined the raptor, or is this not a thing with the code anymore?

I doubt it was staff simply because they care so very little about animating NPCs or even observing anyone that isn't a sorc or templar, or in some conflict with an alt of their's. A staffer like Anaiah aside, the vast majority of people I knew, and from personal experience, who played normal roles, were never observed. For one thing, spying on most people when they're out in the wilderness is pretty goddamn boring, even with the occasional solo emote tossed in. It generally needs to be a crowd, an incongruous vicinity, or a weird time of night to attract attention. Or again, being involved with one of their alts somehow. |

Oh I don't know about that Firekank, being a long time player too, I think when the staff DID abuse their powers, it added something to the game at least and while it was for personal gain bleh I didn't give a shit it's not like they didn't try to involve others at least a little. Nyr can hardly say the same. The end of the world plots they let shit run wild, the Plainsmen, drew in people, made people react much like they should in fear of what they are. IMHO it was fresh to see these tweaks even if I was on the wrong side of it. The favoritism just gave me something to aspire for, and if they said it wasn't possible, which happened all the time, that's no different to how it is now, just not as sNYRky.

There was a gith in the hole he had fallen into, so I figured they animated it and made it get out of the hole, hidden. Maybe it was an NPC that just wandered in. No telling really. Really just conjecture.
