Now, on Armageddon, with the amount of teenage boys and not so teenage boys, misogyny is a word that is dirtier than "great sword sodomy" or "corpse rape." Sefaj knows all about the latter.
I just want to make a point about how misogyny is reviled, punished, and really just pushed so far to the periphery that it, rightly so, has no place in Armageddon at all.
If a female player claimed that they has been unfairly harassed, punished, or otherwise treated poorly by a male staff member after rebuffing their advances, there would be so much white knighting on the GDB that it would look like a KKK rally.
But when a lonely female staffer with a penchant for being a prostitute advocacy with a fondness for lame erotica approaches a male player with this weird idea that he has a romantic feelings for her, and is rebuffed, and punishes that male player so unfairly that even Nyr thinks it's kinda fucked up, well, hardly anything at all is said.
I'm just posting this to point out the hypocrisy and double standards when it comes to sexual harassment toward women on Armageddon, but when probably the only legitimate case of harassment and unfair punishment against a male like this happens, nothing fucking occurs at all.
I don't have much going for me in life, at all, but I'm not that hard on the eyes, and when Vanth tried to make her creep moves on me, I recoiled like a Desert Fucking Eagle. And within short order, I found myself dropped FOUR karma for using the ONLY class that can successfully avoid magick and mind bending detection to, avoid magick and mind bending detection. Though really, it didn't work, because LIRATHANS SEE IT ALL GUISE.
Am I the only one who thinks this is fucked up? Obviously the staff doesn't.

So, humanity cares more about women's suffering, thinks men being harassed by women are helpless losers, considers women less able to cause harm than men, and has a great deal of men ready to protect the delicate little women?
How is is that you only now find out about this?

I think this is the case with all communities on the internet where the female side of authority bring nothing but their gender with their name.
Better the case where everyone is assumed male, and when a staffer is female, you can't tell. Things just work better without a blaring feminine persona in powe who is slow to perform the masculine avenues of being a staffer.

I don't recall reading about this. I've talked a lot about how Vanth approached me romantically, and not knowing she was staff - I used to talk to the player when she was just a player. She started playing after me. Anyway, there was a pic of me up on the first pic site, the one where nessalins was a pic of Mickey Mouse flipping us off and saying FUCK YOU, and where they eventually had the amalgamation pic of all the other pics. Well, my pic was a classy one of me in a skin tight under armor shirt, when I was a defensive lineman in high school, with hot girls from the South on either side of me, like 4 or 5 beautiful girls. I had been talking with Vanth for a while, not knowing she was staff, and she started talking all this weird shit about why I would like a "girl like her" when I "had my choice of women." You must understand that I had said absolutely nothing to her to indicate that I was interested in her romantically, sexually, anything, which is in part why her comment seemed so odd. I had been in the habit of blocking other Arm players at that time who I didn't want to see me on AIM, so feeling incredibly uncomfortable, I blocked her, too. When I realized, a long time after the fact, that it was she who had removed my karma, the unnecessarily large punishment as a result of debatable IC happening suddenly made a LOT of sense. I went to the staff about it and they assumed I was full of shit, until something made Nyr think that there was an element of truth to what I was saying. But for him to not fully right the wrong always seemed hugely unfair and just a way to block me from freely playing high karma classes. |

By "realize," I mean, a friend turned staff member told me it was Vanth a while after the incident happened, and who Vanth's player had been, and suddenly everything made a ton of fucking sense.

How is is that you only now find out about this? I've known about it for a while and have been screaming it for years privately, and the producers never did shit. I take that back. Nyr reimbursed some of it, but no one never acknowledged or apologized for the fact that the basis for any action against me was rooted in dubious personal bias. |

It was thinly veiled by the IC rationale of "it doesn't matter if you're a Nilazi, Lirathans can still detect you."
Then maybe you should change the Nilazi help file to say they are skilled in blocking the ways of psionics, except Lirathan psionics.

FWIW, there are lirathan skills that will enable them to sense shit that is not detectable with detect magic. In fact, if you have any active spell effects going and you get probed, they see them. That's just one of what I recall being 2 or 3 different ways. One of them involving the ability that nilazis have to block psionics in an area as well. I'm not saying that it was anything other than her doing exactly what you said, but during my time on staff, I watched Qoriya bust more than one nilazi with no help whatsoever because of the fact that people think they can't be detected when Lirathans, at least, if not all psions, can detect them with the right tools, absolutely. |

Anaiah, I totally agree there were ways to catch Kailer and punish him.
But to punish me OOCly after failing to punish the character ICly, and the fact that it came down from a creeper who I had rebuffed/blocked on AIM for creeping hard, well, that is the part that I find /most/ shitty.
And none of the staff took me seriously, besides arguably Nyr, though he probably thought I was making it up.
Anyone who knows me well knows that I would not just fabricate this sort of shit, and you can see my account notes leading up to that incident. I had been a great player for almost a decade before one person with an OOC grudge decided to hit me where it hurts for having hurt her feelings.
