Nyr recently accused me of being the recipient of favoritism on the GDB. This is something that I will enjoy addressing, but in the mean time, I am curious about some of Nyr's pet projects.
Let's talk about the Salarri Expansion Division. I really enjoyed the clan and interacted them a lot as Sharlo Kadius, and it was blatantly obvious that they were recipients of favoritism.
Who was their staff member? Nyr.
Want to know how to become a successful imm on Armageddon? Start a "special" part of a clan, recruit good players and make a plethora of badass new items for them, and equip them with a mobile fortress outfitted with a barracks. Ahhhh, and since they were hooked up so well, they would probably make great candidates for future staff. Who would back Nyr up on his decisions, eh? Nice plan.
To be accused of favoritism by someone who pulled off something like that and was rewarded for it is fucking pathetic.

The Allanaki spies from last year should be mentioned here. I received my first and only gdb ban in pointing out how ridiculous that situation was.
The gist of it is that early last year, staff put out some highly secret role calls for some people to play spies infiltrating Tuluk to go and sabotage it as a leading-up thing for the hrpt. Naturally, come hrpt time, they stir up some things, destroy a tree of life, cause some trouble, and flee the premises to join back up with the main Allanaki force.
I don't mind the players the staff picked, or even the idea of the plot itself, or the railroading that may or may not have been there - those I all could handwave as necessary for a cool plot and no big deal because spies must be fun to have around.
What I mind is that this plot took place in a time where not a single fucking law could be broken without the lirathean plotstomp of death happening, half-giants in tow.
I'm supposed to believe that unlicensed pickpocketings, unmanifested magickers and random tribals thinking naughty thoughts of nobles can all be caught and executed while three non-citizen newcomers can all become fairly important on their own accord and fly under the radar entirely?
Fuck off.

Really? Going to reread and issue a response later. When I was a very new player who exhibited good role playing, I was invited to roles like that, and I will write about it when I have more time here in a little bit.

I forget where or how many times I have pointed this out but one of the Nakki spies ended up becoming a Tuluki Bard. Let me assure you the Circle is pretty good at spying as they seemed to know everything Elrum 'banished' Irofel ever thought or did when it suited them. Furthermore this same nakki spy / bard ended up becoming a Chosen Consort who was in the very presence of Muk Utep during the ending of the Grey Hunt.
Now I'll accept maybe during that surprise meeting that she was using some special technique to guard her thoughts, but more importantly someone who is not only a circle apprentice but likely to become a Chosen Consort (we all knew) would definitely have been getting some mindbender scrutiny if only to manipulate her politically once she was a Hlum Chosen Consort... Right? I mean we are in Tuluk.

It's easier if the girl in charge of it is someone Nyr has a hardon for, but I wouldn't blame the girl for it, persay. Girls who Nyr gets a hardon for always have it easy on the game. Heck, I know someone who is pretty nice, and who I know has a good 'relationship' with Nyr. This player - no offense to them, I've said it to them myself quite a few times - can be a real spaz. He/She's been given multiple, incredible special apps...In the brief time I was tracking them, there was a fire mage with warrior skills, and a mutant with mul stats. And they died in like 2 days playtime. Usually owing to impatience or boredom, it seemed. Went through one character after another. Has still pretty much gotten every special app he/she ever applied for (or so it seems). And keep in mind, I LIKE this person. I think they're very nice, OOCly, and their characters are often amusing ICly. But man, he/she, strokes Nyr's ego and gets well rewarded for it. I was always boggled by their special apps, and have told them so.

Still going to respond to some above posts, but really fast Sirra, I am not surprised.
And none of us should be surprised by imms decrying the "old" favoritism of clans like the Tan Muark while introducing enormous perks like the entire Salarri Expansion Division, allowing their own favorites privileges and immships, along with preference over special apps and sponsored roles.
Hypocrisy and double standards abound, and when they are more widely known, as I intend to help document, he will resign voluntarily or be forced to step down.

I think they're very nice, OOCly, and their characters are often amusing ICly. But man, he/she, strokes Nyr's ego and gets well rewarded for it. I was always boggled by their special apps, and have told them so. A few things. 1.) this was me. I didn't have a good relationship at the time with Nyr. I didn't know him much or play in his clans that I can recall. The staff that liked me or setup my specapps back then were Belenos, Shalooooonsh, Mekeda. 2.) None of my specapps were more powerful than today's extended subguilds, looking at them nowadays in hindsight. I did have a Krathi with guard subguild, plus disarm. I think piercing weapons, too. No parry. That might amount to an extended subguild nowadays. 3.) I was actually really disliked after a period of a couple of years by staff overall. I got karma wiped. I staff complainted a couple times. I got over myself. Some staff like me nowadays I guess. 4.) I like to think through reasonable communication with staff over a period of time and good behavior that I'm considered a "good" player now. I know some staff don't like to personally deal with me cause reasons. That's okay.

I'm all for him posting whatever he wants, just feels highly idealistic when dealing with a bunch like the Arm staff. I'll be waiting to read what he posts happily. I'll be very pleasantly surprised if Nyr does resign and I'll apologize to Kron for doubting him.

The more people there are that speak out against his fuckery, the most likely he will be to resign.
The more educated the player base is on the extent of just how fucked up Nyr is, the more likely he will be to resign.
I think a lot of people just aren't aware of what he has done and would be disgusted if they had half a clue, so a good question is how to raise awareness about the worst things he has done along with examples of how he has insulted players, driven them off, and being a generally dickish human.

One major problem as I see it is there is no where else to go play. They can say "If you don't like it here, leave!" because they know despite Nyr and his enablers, all the other RPIs don't cut it.

I think a lot of people know who and what Nyr is. Every staffer knows he has the most complaints of any staffer, ever. Everyone can see his snarky bullshit responses on the GDB. Anyone with even a hint of OOC communication with other players has heard tale of his wrongdoings. It just so happens that some have determined that Nyr's shortcomings do not outweigh his contribution to the game and that is their right to hold that opinion. It also just so happens that those with that opinion control the game.
