Status of the other RPIs

I'm still not seeing a correlation but okay.

when we are all playing labmud everyone look for raven's characters and pk them mercilessly with a thinly veiled veneer of rp. we will know when we have been successful when he starts ranting about how broken the game is. however, since i have just decoded this possible future reality, he will be hesitant at first to post about his misgivings because his pride will be reluctant to admit that i predicted this. this is why we MUST not stop griefing him until we push him over the edge. godspeed everyone.

Since DBZ was mentioned briefly, I will share this excellent Haven anecdote.

Disclaimer: I have this story secondhand. Also it was a long time ago.

I once heard a story that there was a dude on Haven who had a character with the skill 'super jumping'. Skill is exactly what it says on the tin, allowing you to jump long distances.

This dude went on a player-as-GM-run plot with several other characters. At some point, he decided he wanted to jump off a tall building.

The GM said 'okay bro if you want to do this, you can do it, but you're going to take a big wound penalty because gravity'. (Or something similar.)

So this dude's solution was to RP powering up. DBZ style. Glowing spiky hair and all.

The GM told him to GTFO.

I guess it's true Haven has its virtues.

i thought there was a near-consensus sindrome got ruind by a staff change. Wasnt that the mud where they started forcing people into plot roles even when those roles made no sense for the char?

i believe he's a very literal person. as a result of not being a native English speakr. I don't think he realized Kronibas 2.0 was saying "autistic" as an unserious insult and genuinely tried to explain what was wrong with himself.

If we want to talk about good RP for killing... In the real world people are killed for being whorish, because in many cultures those (normally women) who have a lot of sex are actually viewed as less of a person. That would be why whores have a much higher % chance of being assaulted or killed. Then you have the strange and disturb like the guy that killed people in Cali because he was a virgin and blah blah blah and resented women as a gender... Then you have religion killings... Then you have plain old anger management issues leading to murder. There is a relatively small margin between life and death in our world with its much lower average stress threshold than Haven which is a 'horror' supernatural theme or ARM which is a ruined desert world where survival is supposed to be so hard that old people are like heroes. One can only imagine how thin the line between killing and not killing is... like maybe for a pair of boots or because someone is such a basic bitch that they can't be allowed to breed?

TLDR - RL reasons for killing are a lot flimsier than some of the shit we make up to justify murder on MUDs.
