Never change, Prince. Never change. With your random facts. And using 'but in fact' without sounding particularly snooty. And where is the Bitter? I miss his jadedness at times. LURKING. Wondering if my threat will ever return to its rails. You know... the usual. As for the buffalo, I fucking killed them. They were delicious, and I thought... I thought I could stop any time I wanted..!

Knowing "how" to train just skews the game in favor of veterans and encourages OOC discussion about how to train. I certainly didn't learn about skill timers on the GDB.
Best advice for the grind, however long and short of it is is: make sure you can do it with someone else. Because solo roleplay is the death of role interest, at least for me. Are they waking up? Is the lack of Nyr allow brave discussions on the forum the staff controls? Did Badskeelz give a nod to shadow boards? Is this the end of skill timers? Find out next time on GeeDeeBeeZee.

He could be talking about us, or he could be talking about chatting it up with his Arm-playing buddies on AIM.

He probably heard about it on his team speak. They talk about the same manner that we do, except there it's sanctioned. They get away with this by allowing the admin team to clamp down on any discussion they feel is bad.

I'm getting a feeling you immediately took a dislike to me Lizzie. Sorry if I've somehow offended you in my less than a dozen posts. But no, Patuk had the sum of it. I was just using Darksun as a recognizable but easily interchangable example of -how- magicker hate develops. Because the simple truth of RP muds in general is that if some aspect of roleplay is merely informed in lore, but contradicted in gameplay, general attitudes will keep shifting toward the reality of the situation (in this case, don't fear magickers, make friends with them, because there's no real downside). People need valid reasons for fear and hatred if you want to see fear and hatred. Honestly thieves at this point are far more frequent objects for hate than magickers, simply because their encoded skills make them such. If you want mages to be hated you need them to have valid reasons for being hated. I'm not retarded Lizzie. I'm aware this isn't Darksun. However it was a major source of inspiration for the game, and hence makes an excellent example when picking a source for random examples. So, if you wanna have some highschool meangirl snarkfest with each other the rest of our time on the boards, feel free. Otherwise why not cut me a little slack and assume that I'm not an idiot? It might help, given every time you've tried to jump down my throat you've been gently brushed aside. It's vaguely irritating to have it happen every time I post.I like this SaraD guy already. fucking lol edited to add nearly every post from this person has led to them punking the shit out of lizzie i need moar

I'm part Blackfoot, you asslickers. Goddamnit, I'm not reading all your spew. Fuck the white man. Down with authority. DIE. Or, ahem, don't try to excuse what America, or its settlers, have done to the native inhabitants just because of your personal preference to be comfortable in your righteousness. I don't want to hear this shit. I don't want to hear about how slavery was justified or how eating babies during the crusades was somehow necessary.

I would rather have hydraulic fluid injected into my hands than type anything on that forum. It goes against so much of what this game is supposed to represent. The mystery, the secrets, the not knowing exactly why x does y until you see it first hand and everything is brought to light because of your own efforts. Their need to have it all laid bare without any of their own effort is indicative of the purest form of laziness and entitlement. The scum of the earth. Come on Dan, get the fuck out of here. Did reading D&D rulebooks ruin D&D for you? Did knowing what skills your selected class got before you started playing murder your fun boner? Get off it. The wiki drop revealed nothing but a big steaming pile of crap and let us catch a glimpse at the barren and hollow creative wasteland that was once our favorite game. There is no mystery, or secrets-- and whatever you think is there may as well not exist because of how often it's retconned or outright forgotten. Don't try to act like playing this game is some grand adventure where getting assrammed by crim-code repeatedly because you didn't know any better, or where not knowing what skills your character is going to have can in any way be considered fun. Jesus fucking christ this attitude of "go through all this stupid bullshit you really don't have to, it'll be fun!" that's always been so prevalent on the GDB gets under my skin. >:c ON TOP OF THAT Nothing happens here that didn't happen on AIM or IRC or Tinychat, or any of the other old channels everyone and their mother used to obtain information in the past. The only difference now is that it's out in the open.

The title of this thread should be changed to "Worthy quotes from the GDB." The word Gem just screams sarcasm, so people keep getting it backwards.
