also maybe it's just me but why does it seem like it's sorcs/mages that get all the cool shit in the game? when was the last time you heard about something like a long-time badass warrior getting cool bonuses/fighting style? or a PC assassin developing a new poison? even just random one-off plots happening to players, like a ranger going through the desert stumbles on a bunch of murdered travellers in the desert? They don't. All the reaches are already coded. All of the spells are already coded. Just like all the mundane items and mundane fighting styles. Which people right here have heard of people like LoD getting. Bam (Booya) developed bamberry booze with Kurac. And literally no one has gotten a special reach from staff since pre2010 unless it's something totally undocumented (which is a violation of policy), or it was gotten from a pc that predates that time who already had it. I'm not even sure what you mean by one-off plots. You mean like the time that Meso the Red Scorpion had a staff driven plot tied to his focus to go get one of his kin from an island in the Sea? Because it's also against policy to have magick plots, in fact, even if the player does every speck of the legwork and puts a thousand hours into it, you might get a 2 minute animation (if you manage it, you've already done better than 99% who've tried), displaying how badly you fucked up before you're maimed or killed. And I have had many animations for mundane pc deaths, so that's hardly exceptional.

And since the vision for the game right now is for players to write their own stories (lol) that's pretty much all there is to do. Wait, they finally posted a vision for the game? Officially?

lol bitter, of course not. Nyr linked a bunch of old quotes and then said 'I hope that answers your question'.
Taking time to write a paragraph on the subject? Why? To prove you care or have one? Fuck that noise, but you know it has mention of how they're volunteers in it like 3 times.

I guess just little touches, like the mentioned example. something small and spontaneous for individual players. i don't know the meso thing at all or have any idea what that was about.

It was a plot that I can't recall if it was Rahmi or Rathustra ran for red scorpion meso, the Tor Dwarf. More than half of my arm experience was post 2010 until it ended with a drunken decision to start posting here about a year ago now.
