Ah, i see. might I also add the staff really loves collaterol damage to try and scare people into feeling involved. and that shit was old over a decade ago: Shit. i guess the Highlord is either hard of hearing or has shit aim. What I dont guess is that this is going to add some extra wow-factor to the event.

Fuck naw. That shits so old it's turned to crude oil. any time those dipshits want a reaction they kill a bunch of people who just happen to be standing around. It's like they need to mke a blood sacrifice to the HRPT god to insure a plentiful harvest.

So what if it was done by Hasan exactly? It's not like Hasan was a loner who just kept killing people. While he did kill people and in my opinion, rather lamely so, he still have done some plots and brought people together. Plots were created. Hopes and dreams were hoped and dreamed and crushed and fulfilled. Mostly crushed, but that's armageddon.
For the record. Nilazi do not have a 'fake' subguild. They work exactly like any other elementalist. Except for ability to be completely untraceable psionically, ability to fake their own deaths, and just plain body swapping.

They gave Hasan the power he had if I remember correctly. They've no one to blame but themselves.

Hasan was a normal human preserver for years. The whole undead thing is a pretty recent development. Nobody 'gave' him power. He was a tough cookie long before he rose the ire of Allanak and shit began to happen.

Because becoming undead takes no amount of work on staff's side. How many reaches did he learn? I guess that was all his doing, no?

Considering it actually takes about the same amount of work, code-wise, as a description change, and the character was around in 2010, I don't think that would really count as 'monopolizing time' to have 5-10 minutes of assistance. And it's very likely that he learned Kizn reach from the hoofed whiran kick who came back from the bad old days as some refer to them, a few years later, as the only one in the world with kizn reach, teaching it to multiple pcs (Including Lyvrenxice Oash) before disappearing again. So extra reaches don't necessarily mean staff, though the change to undead would, of necessity. Still... 5-10 minutes for 4 years of your real life playing a character.... doesn't even seem like you're asking enough (time and "work") for it to fairly count as a pittance.

I know he was working with the nilazi of a former staff member for a long ass time, so it would not at all surprise me to hear that he flipped sides.

when I was going to app for a sorc a long long time ago i was going over concepts with the special app person (naephet??? someone with a n that wasn't nessalin) and was like yeah this guy preserves but will go to defiling if it's a crisis. I got told flat out that switching sides isn't something that happens. you're really committed and it's a part of your core ethics/identity/ideals.

also maybe it's just me but why does it seem like it's sorcs/mages that get all the cool shit in the game? when was the last time you heard about something like a long-time badass warrior getting cool bonuses/fighting style? or a PC assassin developing a new poison? even just random one-off plots happening to players, like a ranger going through the desert stumbles on a bunch of murdered travellers in the desert?

I really think that's what people want. But nothing like that happens so people a) go around killing shit b) get bored and store c) do something really stupid. All three of these happen with astonishing frequency. And since the vision for the game right now is for players to write their own stories (lol) that's pretty much all there is to do.
