Hmm the words that enter my mind when I hear ban amnesty and all you have to do is contact them. Yeah sure. That'll go over real well with some of us. Oh c'mon Del. you know you wanna walk right back up to the brick wall that is Arm, press your hands against it for balnce, and start headbutting again. all you have to do is swallow a little pride. And then you wont even need a proxy to waste your time playing again. The good news is that the two people always sitting in Red Storm will finally have some company. RSV FTW. At least until nyr decides Tek decided to conquer it for no reason. CHANGE IS HAPPENING PEOPLE SO YUO BETTER LOG IN MORE TO SEE IT!!!!111!

Currently RSV isn't intended to be a major player/rp hub. Staff have said as much. I wonder what their reaction to a large playerbase there would be. They could use punitive means to reduce the appeal (worst case scenario), try to make other locations more attractive or embrace players' desire to play in the location and lend support to those playing there.

^ Seriously, the game has been so bland the last couple of years. In the last year I haven't seen ANY shred of player initiative. There are still good players and characters out there, but you don't see indies trying to create their own clans, or anything of that sort these days. Half the clanned players are sitting in the Byn (I've heard it said IG that they're flat out not recruiting Runners, which I've never seen before), and the ones that aren't are sitting in their respective clans doing jack shit. I've seen like 2 desert elves in that time, and no raiders / conflicts / indies / whatever. It's just a big meh sandwich. Meh is what they are going for. Haven't you noticed? Removal of the grey hunt, cities are now pretty much completely safe from sorcies and raiding mages, rape got banned (not my thing just giving an example), Kryl aren't the threat they used to be anymore, and this 'war' isn't really a war. Allanak goes up, tuluk sends a whole unit of halfgiants, end of battle. Boring. Removal of Northern qynars, (therefore removing 90% of political conflict in the city, with the removal of the grey hunt) They are boiling it down to appeal to the Lowest Common Denominator. The Arm I grew to love 5 years ago is gone. Arm is going to end up pretty fluffy and carebear soon.

I've seen like 2 desert elves in that time, and no raiders / conflicts / indies / whatever. It's just a big meh sandwich. Shortly after the Shadow Artist update, but shortly before the taverns in Tuluk were reduced, there was an indie merchant who hired hunters - both indie and not - to gather supplies for him. Pretty sure his plan was to start his own thing, but I don't think it ever worked out, given how small the pbase was up there. Around that time, Hawk was doing his thing and putting bounties on templar's heads or whatever. I think he died to a templar, after being given "amnesty" in Tuluk, about a month later. Also around that time a sorcerer was active in the south, and he recruited mundane indies here and there. (Including ones with no karma or positive staff interactions) He was a scary dude. Pretty sure he's been offed by a templar in...Nak? by now as well. Also around that time there was a half-elf nomad raider who regularly attacked people, especially the Byn. He also occasionally just chilled with indie grebbers, if he didn't feel like killing that day. Almost 100% certain he's been killed. During that same time period, Tuluk had a number of PC spies operating around Luirs and possibly even in 'Nak. Not sure what happened to that plot, though I know a Templar eventually killed one of his own spies for being useless. At that same time period, there was a small group of elementalists (no idea if they were gemmed or not) who liked to fuck around with people in the wilderness around Nak. Not sure where that was going, or how it went. There were also a pair of Krathi Delves - Sunrunners, I think - who regularly went near Red Storm and fucked people up. Probably also killed by now. I can't speak to anything that was going on after the taverns were closed. That was around the time I stopped playing.

Appealing to the Lowest Common Denominator would be if they threw out karma and let anyone play anything. it would also imply everything they were doing was part of an overall plan to improve activity. I dont believe they plan that way. they have shit they want to do they think will make the game more active. then they do it and whatever it is fails miserably. Then they ignore the results and do it again.

Well we all knew this was coming. Since there is hardly anymore people to fuck around with in the north, time for nyr to come on down south and harass the people into leaving the game.
And I can bet you the first thing that is going to happen in the south is there will suddenly be a wave of high level mindbenders or mindbending templars that will begin ruining low level plots there. Mostly so Nyr can prove his arguments that Allanak always had the potential to be just as shitty as tuluk in terms of plot creation.

This development is definitely a bummer though. I feel bad for everyone, most of all the outletless sycophantic gdber who can do nothing but bite his tongue or offer fake enthusiam in hopes of getting on his good side, or at the least not getting on his bad side.

let me know if everyone starts going indie. i wouldn't be surprised at all, and shit as much as i loved allanak id probably end up leaving too, and i guarantee there'll be at least a balanced number of tuluk byn pcs after this change since they said they plan on doing that. at least theyre smart enough to use what they know will help shift the balance lol

As long as he doesn't start making retroactive changes and rewriting clan documentation this won't be as bad some are portraying it (but you never know). He probably just wants to play a character in Tuluk. It's kind of freaky to think that he's probably been playing in Nak/RSV/Luirs up til now. However now I don't want to play a southern noble/templar. I would now consider playing a northern sponsered role (but I'm not sure I'd know how, after all of the changes to the setting).
