It makes zero sense to punish people for spreading spoilers to each other. If they want to do that, I don't see why the staff should crack down on it. It is tantamount to forcing people to quit playing just because they learned a game secret with a previous character. There is literally no difference I have heard cited other than the "fun level."

Even a noob reading all the docs will find out things that their 'Nakki commoner wouldn't necessarily know.

EDIT: The only thing I don't like to see people doing is spreading info about other people's/their own characters to screw them over or give themselves/their buddies an advantage. And that has never been done on these boards to my knowledge.

Yeah I saw that post, and nobody gave that guy what he wanted, so I think that spoke very well about the quality of this community.

I know I already said my piece, but this just occurred to me. Basically, the staff attitude towards IC info is like if HBO shut down people's service for spreading Game of Thrones spoilers among themselves.

I've not seen anything like that happen more than a handful of times, even in the right forum. I'm not saying that everyone is the same, but I -am- saying that a certain baseline's been established that most people seem to follow with again, only a handful of exceptions to an established practice, which is not a rule, you won't get banned over it, but it's a baseline kind of that most adhere to pretty well and easily.

It's disappointing to hear that people do that, but I can't comment on it because I haven't seen it.

yeah theres a few threads where ppl have shared or asked about info on current pcs, along with ur usual peeps lamenting about the spread of current ic info despite that its perfectly fine to share here

The issue at hand, since it concerns one of MY posts, was that I wanted to know who, in the sphere I was playing in at the time, was thought of as a "tough" PC. Reason being, I was having a tough time finding sparring partners, and wasn't able to play for long enough spurts to find these mystery badasses. Unfortunately, that spirit wasn't imbued in my artfully crafted "HAY GUISE WHO IS STRONKS?" and, for whatever reason, nobody gave me any responses anyways.

That PC later became pretty buff and got shutdown pretty quick.

I guess it's all about how it sounds, yeah.

Like for example. You're a gemmed whiran, or a drovian. Hai, who in tuluk is strong enough for me to spam cast stalkers at. Or who in tuluk is strong enough for me to fuck with psionically? Or who in tuluk is strong enough for me to sneak in, keyword identify and ... fuck with. People are free to do whatever the fuck they want on these forums. But if they do stupid shit like that then they "justifY" the whole ban on ooc communication. And all the loss of karma for even 'reading' these forums. Let alone the whole thing about using ooc means to possibly ruin some other player's plot. Perhaps that was not your intention what so ever. But it sure as fuck sounded like one.

Personally? I'm not going to be any part or help to that.
