they could just a set pc limit for unsponsored non-mundane guilds (maybe races like mul or half-giant) and let anyone apply and get accepted or rejected based on availability

I'm thinking they should set it up where you're allowed to give one player something like a kudos, when you hit a certain number you automatically get a karma point. You're only allowed to give one though to prevent abuse per character.
Watch the level of RP increase.

i don't get why all new accounts just don't get level 1 karma with two months of character creation and 2 days of playtime unless there's a negative reason not to. are d-elves really that dangerous that it requires a staff member to pay special attention to a player and judge them worthy of it?

I think the one point of karma after a few days playtime, or a period of a few months active should be automatic. The other thing I would say to gain karma is to special app for a role a few points about what you have, and then hopefully live a while with that character, or plan in a clan. It shows that you can handle the role.

Special apping to me is also an elitist gaming system. I feel like it was way easier back in the day when you could just shoot an email to a staff member about something and get a response in email. It was more personal. The entire system they have now probably makes things easier but honestly I feel like it's way less efficient then just being plain "hands on" with your player base. I feel like I'm pandering to the staff when I submit for anything. I honestly feel like they should be coming to me not the other way around. Is that wrong?

I feel like I'm pandering to the staff when I submit for anything. I honestly feel like they should be coming to me not the other way around. Is that wrong? I do agree, personally, that I feel anytime I'm doing anything with the request tool, that I'm pandering to staff. For a group of people there to facilitate gameplay, SOME seem to demand you come to them. I do feel that if they wanted to, they could come to players but I also have known players that "take so much staff attention" that nobody else gets any attention. So far as Karma, I've been playing now for over 10 years. I have one karma, down from the 4 I once had, because I got drunk IRL and suicided in game, and I lost karma for being part of these boards. Karma, according to the docs: - Degree of maturity and responsibility as a role-player, as evidenced by playing roles realistically and acting responsibly with the code. - Knowledge of the game world, and an appreciation of the way in which the various races, guilds, and so on, interact. - Role-playing skill, as evidenced by role-playing in such a way as to show that they are really involved in the game world, and also enriching the game world for other players. Except, being part of an OOC community has nothing to do with any of those. I play most of my roles realistically, I know the game world and how to interact, and even Adhira once mentioned that, when given the opportunity, I roleplay very well. But it doesn't matter, because one time I picked up a Legionnaire's sword that was dropped in an arrest, and gave it back to them. That started my negative account notes.

Yeah you could say I have some experience with that. Haha.
Irrelevant though. The staff of then is not the staff of now.

Now I'm afraid to request my account notes or ask for karma.

what was their excuse for not outright banning u Mostly because they didn't have PROOF, just a lot of conjecture. And I wasn't giving out a whole lot of secrets, its was mostly because I was asking which PCs were strong, in which spheres, and they didn't take kindly. I'm not too concerned, I actually prefer mundanes (magickers make me want to twink so hard, and then I don't know what to do with myself). Its more that I've, not once, gotten that stuff back. The idea of "responsible" and "mature" play is so grey-area that they may as well have not changed the documentation on it at all. Its not staff trust in you, its how much one particular staff likes you. If Nyr or Adhira don't like you, you're not getting Karma.
