Yeah, it's painful. I assume if you're still RPing, you're into MUSHes now? How is that going? I wish I had time to play one sometimes. Nah, I’ve been playing or staffing Mushes since 2001. It’s Arm I dabble in, hop in and out of. It’s kind of like drinking a craft beer and drinking Bud. Sometimes you just want a Bud, so when I do I play Arm. Last Mux I played was Horror Mux. Since it’s episodic, it’s between stories right now, good time to take a break. Usually, that would be a time I jump into Arm for a little while, might jump into something else, but eh. |

So is SOI dead looks like Frigga/Nimrod left but I haven't seen posts from new staff at all?

Took me 2 seconds to check mudconnector, looks like it's online.  Albeit, the connection attempts are very low, oh how the mighty have fallen. I remember the days when SOI had 60-70 connected during the Tur-Edendor days. Makes me sad to see it like this. |

Frigga/Nimrod have been long gone.
Short story:
Players got up in arms over SoI staff being hands off, absent, etc etc.
We actually managed to get the head staff to transition a new team.
New team turns out to be worse than the Frigga/Nimrod combo.
Players collectively jump off a bridge and/or commit seppuku to atone for their error.
Two people forgot to disconnect beforehand, two connections remain on middle-earth.us.

The game is officially closed. Big thanks to everyone who made it fun and contributed since we re-opened in 2014. There's a more complete farewell from staff on the official Discord, which will remain up for people to reminisce.

The last time I played SoI, which has been years now. I played a character that was one of the clan leads in Laketown and got accused by staff of stealing coins from the clan. Part of my character's job was managing a shop, and moving coins and items back and forth between the shop and the clan coffers. Somehow staff was convinced I was stealing coins from the clan even though I'm a grown adult that doesn't do things like break character to steal, and coins were totally useless and gimmick because there wasn't an actual in game economy, and my character didn't even have any coins, and I was even using my own coins and items at a loss to try and get some kind of economy going in the town. Apparently it was confirmed my character was stealing coins by reviewing logs. It made me quit playing.
