We say goodbye to Raleris. Though he was sometimes stagnate he was consistent and tried to create RPTs in his own way. I hope the player finds new fun in a new role or explores beyond Armageddon for their RP fix.
PS - He was stabbed by a southron commoner animation. It was definitely a tuluki double-cross plot sekrit mode alpha 11 with the blessings of the Faithful or it would have never have worked, right staff?

Chosen Lord Raleris Winthorol, he came in right when the Deluge happened and was involved in various RPTs against the Kryl and repairing various Tuluki areas like the warrens and red sun commons. He and The Tenneshi Dragean (super fat dude) had a lot of back and forth rivalry which defined Tuluki politics for several ooc years.
He lost his eye in the later part of his life so he'd be the Chosen with the eyepatch to a lot of people.

without him or Dragean theres literally going to be no activity in Tuluk. (I only Liked the post regarding how idiotic the staff execution of his character was. my bet is he retired the character)

It is likely that Raleris requested his character be cycled out in a more interesting manner than storage. I wouldn't be surprised.

That's what I figured. i'm surprised he wasn't written out stabbing a kryl queen in the brain from the inside of her mouth while being eaten to death... but i guess it required too much effort for the staff to explain how anyone witnessed that and survived.

And... Welcome to staff, Cutthroat.
I hope you don't become disillusioned with it.
You guys forget 3 new staff just came on, Raleris has been alive 5 RL years, just about. And when you join staff, your character must be stored or killed.
And Cutthroat didn't have to apply previously, because he was invited without an application even. But didn't wish to give Raleris up.

And... Welcome to staff, Cutthroat. >set poofin With a sigh of the universe, the Breath of Enthemu blows into existence. >set poofout In a whisper of a breeze, the Breath of Enthemu is inhaled back into oblivion.
EDIT: those of you with high listen/watch around raleris will get this.

Raleris was really quite well played. I think the problem there is that any divergence from the documentation is frowned upon, even if it develops IC, and Winrothol, as a House, is just plain written to look boring from the outside, in my opinion, at least. I was the one who suggested back in the day to bring him on as staff, because of the insane amount of detail and regularity behind his reports, and his ability to press on through unlimited stretches of very clear boredom, and the fact that no matter how many times I had it passed down that I had to shoot him down, he never flagged or wavered, or gave up. And that quality is really important, in a way I didn't realize before coming onto staff. Because you need that same thing to be able to tell people day in and day out 'you can't because reasons' when you disagree that they can't, and you also disagree with the reasons.

Aww man.. I just heard about Raleris... that's such a shame. Tuluk IMO has died off ever since the barricades were put in place, the arena was shut down to public PC's, and when Dragean stored. Kudos to pof Raleris though for sticking with it for soooooo long. Respect.
But wtf about his death? Really? That's how he goes out? Soooo fucking lame. We should all just play WOW.. the quests to kill ten boars have more thought to them as far as interesting plot and story go. *sigh*

Am I the only one who thinks Raleris was the most boring long-lived PC ever?

Responding quickly, I don't think that was because of him... more so getting slapped down with trying to do stuff because it would be too much 'work' for staff. That happens for 5 years... its gotta be tough to keep going, especially when so many people die around you, or get bored and stored. I think the red tape needs to be cut, and the nobles should be given more freedom to explore and whatnot. If they die, what actual work goes into setting them up really? A few nice items to load, which honestly isn't fkn hard.. umm... here's access to the clan webpage.... now make plots but don't cause us work?
