I have searched but I may have missed this topic, if there's already a thread about it so apologies in advance. My characters have never been much for spice, except for those few that tried and failed to make a living off the silt sea. Even back then, I was mystified by what the actual effects and rules of the whole system are.
Does anyone here have any knowledge of the coded effects of different kinds of spice? The echoes you get from lasting effects point to attributes in some cases and in others, are sadly vague. There seems to be a progression to their effects (I.e.: heart pumps solidly in chest - energetic rush - nausea) but only with specific types. Does the speed and length of this progression depend on your character's attributes? Luir's sells spice, to my knowledge. Are the types found there the complete list of spices in-game? Smoking in general seems to have such a lot of effort placed in it as a game mechanic. I've seen dozens of different objects related to it... Is there anything else you can smoke/inhale, plants or otherwise?

Agross Colorful, flaky spice Rolls: A simple tube of spice Your Echo: Your heart begins to thump solidly in your chest. Echo to room: Amos’s breathing slows and grows deeper. Smells: Buff: Stamina Stat Increases
Melem Tuek Dark-red, golden-flecked spice Rolls: An average-looking tube of spice. Your Echo: A feeling of great confidence comes over you. Echo to room:Amos’s flexes unconsciously and smiles to himself. Smells: Musky Buff: Strength Stat Increase
Zharal Dark-red spice Rolls: Your Echo: You feel more aggressive. Echo to room: Smells: Sweet, dusty Buff: I think it’s strength stat increase as well? Side Note: Ladiez mudseches spice
Thodeliv Viscous black spice Rolls: A solidly packed tube of spice Your Echo: You feel euphoric, and a numbness creeps across your body. Echo to room: Amos’s eyes become glassy-red and half-closed. Smells: Buff: Supposedly reduces time of kyrl rage poision and Mul-rage as well.
Krentakh A crumbly pinch of golden spice Rolls: A massive rolled tube of spice Your Echo: You feel elated. Echo to room: Smells: A sweet, floral tinge clings faintly to their skin. Buff: Gives you more stamina (not stat increase)
Methelinoc Dark, light-flecked spice Rolls: A carefully rolled tube of spice Your Echo: You feel a heightened awareness Echo to room: Amos’s countenance becomes a bit more solemn. Smells: smoky, dusty aroma, redolent of the desert Buff: Intelligence Stat Increases
Dull red spice Rolls: Your Echo: Echo to room: Smells: Buff: Agility
Qel Greenish-brown spice Rolls: Your Echo: You feel more in tune with the elements. Echo to room: Smells: Curious, mossy Buff: Regens Mana or something, not sure.
Kemen silky grey-tan spice Rolls: Your Echo: Echo to room: Smells: Buff: Side Note: Dusty brown lichen mimics Kemen
There is also some Blackwing spice. Green in color, maybe green and gold? Edit: This causes skellebain and raises endurance
It’s a hallucinogen. I don’t have the desc or anything sadly.
Also, there are a few types of moss and lichen that give similar echos to spice but I don't know if they actually do anything. dappled green lichen, dusty brown lichen and blue moss (which doesn't smell horrible, the other one)

The Elf spice raises endurance/gives skelliban poison or whatever it's called. Dull red spice raises agility.
There is also Kemen, but I don't know much about it.

You are both awesome! I noticed there are rather large price differences between the types - It is a real shame silting is not a viable career choice. These lichen and mosses, I am guessing they are mainly found in caves? Another question, one that needs experience I do not have with spice: How is addiction handled by the game mechanics?

Dark-red that makes you more aggressive boosts offense if I'm not mistaken. I remember it gives echoes about wanting to kill an maim and such.

Found part of my own answer. I wonder if addiction rates are the same for all types spice/lichen/moss. I'm guessing an addiction is easy to feed for an older character, seeing as how money becomes almost worthless. Speculation: I feel like a new character wouldn't even be able to afford developing the habit, let alone feeding it.

Blue moss is found in caves. There are two kinds. One smells horrible (That one is poison) The other one is dusty or something and leaves a residue on your fingers. That'll get you high. Lichen, insofar as I have seen, only seems to grow in thorny areas? You have to be able to forage and pick up food, like human teeth and beetles and shit, to have any hope of finding it. Correct me if I'm wrong on that Dark-red that makes you more aggressive boosts offense if I'm not mistaken. I remember it gives echoes about wanting to kill an maim and such. Oh rly? Offense boost eh? I do recall the echos being like that yeah. Something like, You feel like stalking prey, or something.

I'm talking about dusty brown lichen. It gives you the same echo as Kemen. You feel flushed, and invulnerable. Or something like that. I wasn't aware there was a silky grey lichen, I thought the Kemen was silky grey spice.

Actually, wtf is kemen.. reading this.. It occurs to me I have zero goddamn clue. Just that its not sold in the shop but you have to order it. They sold it once upon a time at an RPT or something.

Ah, kemen is one of the more expensive spices available IIRC and is highly prized by people who value their intellect, e.g. elementalists, sorcerors, psionicists, etc.
I believe it's the spice that just gives a badass boost to your wisdom, but it's been too damn long.
Kemen is silky grey right? If so then yeah, I think I'm right.
