I've only been playing around five years and I have been Temporarily banned. For going into an area that I wasn't supposed to, and organizing a raid with out informing staff. If I wasn't allowed in I shouldn't have been able to get in. By the time the discussion was done I was un-banned and half-ass apologized to. The staff involved seemed jealous that they didn't get to participate or maybe they were planning some kind of RPT around it. I don't have any hard feelings with staff, but do feel like I am walking on eggshells sometimes.
I was playing a character that was a drunk ass-hole and another player filed a complaint against me. I was addressed by staff. Though Nyr justified the retaliation on his part by pointing out micro-inequities in my Grammar. The reason the complaint was filed was because I was being an asshole ic, not because of minor typos that happen when you are typing fast.

Sometimes people are nasty. There are no rules against being extremely mean to others that your character may meet, be it cheating, stealing, killing, swindling, or otherwise making a fool out of. The sole exception to this is termed 'the rule of consent', and is outlined both in "help consent" and in point 6, below.
I still play from time to time, but am tired of being policed so I only play limited roles.

Scarily similar, actually. I am especially referring to the bolded part. I went a long time thinking I was pretty much the only one and everyone else was doing great. Hint: You are on eggshells. I hope you didn't have any dreams about having coded children or starting your own merchant trading house. If you just want to fuck off and go forage slate, they'll leave you alone for a year or two more, though. |
