Meh. I got nothing against the dude. I don't see any reason to invest hate in someone who has no bearing on anything with regards to the game. If someone wants to kiss ass, they can kiss ass, so long as they're not kissing ass and also fucking with me or talking shit about me, I'm pretty indifferent to it. Aside from that, I feel like the culture of intolerance to honesty and dissent on the GDB breeds that sort of asskissing posting and it doesn't necessarily have dick to do with who the people behind the keyboards are besides that they don't want to get banned.

Seconded. I've never minded the guy, as far as I recall. I don't believe I've ever (knowingly) played with him, but as far as I know he's always seemed like one of the better GDB personalities. I take issue with sycophants as a rule, but RGS in particular really gets my goat. It would seem that every time I browse the GDB, he can be found hard at work cleaning grit from the sphincter of one staff member or another. If not, it's stifling any form of discussion that might be on the verge of progressive with a dozen different wordings of "Find out IC.". The GDB would be better off without him. |

It's almost difficult to blame people for being fawning sycophants when that's evidently the way forward on Armageddon, and when everyone is under the whims of a guy who's a complete cunt to people who aren't backpatters. Most of us probably chose to go the other route and quit or become rogue players, but for people who care about their Armageddon "careers," being a prideless bootlicker like RGS is the way to ensure that you don't suddenly become the random victim of a megalomaniac with a hairtrigger banhammer.

I don't have too much against RGS.
Just, some of the shit he gets away with posting on the GDB though, mygawd.
Especially in comparison to what Wastrel eventually got banned over.

If RGS isn't 14-17, I'll be darned. Anyway 89.97% of his posts are 'find out IC' or 'The game is fine the way it is, staff lock this thread' which is dumb as hell but I find his antics of telling off the staff or other GDB members.
