I am trying to find recipes for brewing. I mean anything I can get. I know the basic soap recipes. I was hoping someone might have a list of recipes for foods, cures, perfumes, basically anything that might help explain how to use this skill better than just making soap. Docs on plants and herbs would be nice too if anyone can share things that can't be found elsewhere.

Regarding cures, specifically: Most of what you want is already in the various help files. There are dozens of plants, most of which can be combined in almost endless combinations to produce assorted things. The most efficient way to tell if one can do something, and what to combine it with, is to use the assess command.
I haven't ever used assess without the -v (which means verbose) so I don't know if you will see what you're looking for if you use just assess by itself. The syntax I would use is:
assess -v blossoms
And you'll see what you're looking for, there.
Regarding foods: that's based on the cooking skill, not the brew skill. Various fungii, fruits, herbs, can be made into seasonings for food, but I don't know if that's the brew skill or the cooking skill (my characters who've made them have always had both).

You can brew all kinds of things though, I think the maps excel spreadsheet lists a lot of the combinations.

Here's something to get you started:
Fat from gurth/crafted entrails = 1 use soap Fat from gurth/crafted entrails plus citron leaves = several uses (citron-scented soap) Fat from gurth/crated entrails plus crimson leaves by Shield Wall = several uses (perfect sphere)

perfumes are made with a different skill. bandage making. Last time I played a merchant, perfumes were crafted under the floristry skillset.

Recipes for the new brew code:
CURES: - Bloodburn/Generic: cold bland - Skellebain: refreshing calming acidic - Grishen: calming cold sweet - Terradin: refreshing bland sour - Heramide: hot sour sweet - Peraine: hot sour acidic
POISONS: - Bloodburn/Generic: hot acidic - Grishen: calming cold hot - Skellebain: bland sour sweet - Terradin: sour sweet acidic - Heramide: refreshing calming bland - Peraine: cold sour refreshing
There are probably other things that can be brewed. The combination of herbs is up to 5 herbs which makes for a lot of different combinations but most of them end up being ash. When you hit master and you craft something that doesn't "taste like ash" when you analyze it, you'll know it does something so it's worth testing out. If you aren't at your max level with brew, try making some of these more advanced cures/poisons, they have a higher fail rate.

I don't know. I'd say try it and see what you can find out. But maybe post your findings in a thread about poison since this thread is about brewing.

Aren't they kind of now the same thing, if you can brew up poisons?

I've yet to figure much out about this skill. And worse, it seems like some "fails" aren't fails. For all crafting skills there's a set number it takes (of failures) to get to the next level, and when you've had 15+ fails beyond that level and still haven't moved up ... clearly some of those failures you're getting aren't failures. I'm also greatly confused by the cures you make. I can make 3 cures for bloodburn from different plants and end up with 3 totally different substances. That's kind of weird to be carrying around and trying to remember after that critter just poisoned you.

I haven't actually used any I created. Seems like a great way to die. Madame Curie poisoned herself with radiation experimenting. So maybe this is realism.
