Who were these juggernauts and what did they do/try to do? Afraid I've only had the fortune to be killed repeatedly by the plainsman, really dickishly too.

Plainsman was indeed halasters avatar. He was an extremely long lived sorc of course and thats not even the worst the worst is Halaster who has programming knowledge would code in special magickal spells and then go in game and test them with Plainsman. The claim was that he was playtesting these spells and all this special stuff but really come on, gotta be some of the smelliest shit the game has ever gone thru.
White rantarri was Bhagharvas avatar. An unkillable desert elf. Literally unkillable. He had a background where he just couldn't die and comes back to life randomly. I don't know the full story and I remember talking to a few people about it. Eventually he was removed from the game by staff or "stayed dead" somehow. Doesn't really matter now, these to me were very dark times for Arm in general if you knew anything about what was going on. Don't get me wrong I am sure there are sorcs in game right now but they are doing what they are supposed to do and staying away from everywhere. Back during this time it was not uncommon to randomly see Plainsman just floating around outside 'Nak like "Hey guys wassap you can't do shit to me, hahaha." It was so fucked up because you know if that happens with a PC he dies instantly and gets hunted down by a red robe.

I remember seeing the Plainsman outside of Tuluk a bunch of times and thinking I could outrun him. ..sigh..

He was a huge pkiller. Racked up a ton of pks on that PC. His other PC I remember was a templar that also racked up a ton of PKs.

I had a rukkian in his group. They lived in that crazy ass abandoned castle. You had to go down the chasm on the northern edge of the grey forest, all the way west to the lakebed and there's a hidden entrance there that eventually leads up to this huge ruined castle, and north of that there's a garden. That thing was still there as of about a year ago - I investigated with my nilazi. Except after plainsman, it's crawling with npc Tuluki soldiers now.
Anyway, he had this sweet garden set up out there with a fountain that just bubbled up water. Tons of places to forage for artifacts, as well as food. It was just a massive pain in the ass to get to if you didn't have teleport/invisibility/etc. I went on some crazy ass quest involving the huge stone slab in the mountains east of Tuluk that he draw some runes on the slab and suddenly it opened to the various elemental planes, cycling through each one. But before we could enter each one, some nasty critter from the plane stepped out and we had to fight them. I did a forage in the plane of Ruk and got a tiny nugget of gold. Plainsman and his chronie whiran named Storm decided to kill my rukkian. Over a tiny nugget of gold. It was lame. Other than that, he kept me pretty much in the dark about the grander things he was doing.
I remember meeting White Rantarri. I don't remember much else.
Black Tembo was also in Plainsman's group. I knew him well with my Rukkian. He also killed a couple of my other PC's. Nasty Krathi.

Black Tembo was Dan on the GDB, bit of a penchant for pking but good player.
While playing as Bones, I was involved in the death of Storm (he was a quasi elemental). Used his wand (a sphere of obsidian or something you could hold to perform fist of wind) until the CAM end of the world plot got railroaded by Quick and his cullies.
IIRC, White Rantarri (the elf, not the actual fucking rantarri) was nuked by an old elkrosian buddy of Bones. Got some GREAT stories from that pair; we did some recockulous stuff.

Agreed. I didn't want to kill him, since he seemed kind of cool. Bones' buddy however was a bit trigger happy with his elkrosi.

I almost killed storm lord a few times. I fought him at least 5 times, once with mage killer (the one time he had to run). I vaguely remember him messaging me on aim talking shit. But yeah that castle stuff was fucking crazy. Halaster built all that (or had it built) for himself and his croneys. It just irks me that people don't see all this and not ask some questions? Halaster used the mud as his own little playground, killing whoever he wanted and playing favorites and having the most powerful PCs the mud has ever seen (along with Shit-Bhag) and people never talked about it except on aim/IM.

I guess that all ties back into WHY we are here so we CAN talk about this stuff. If you even mentioned it on the GDB back then you were insta-twitted by Halaster and had karma removed and then risked a perm-ban from the mud.

I may be wrong about him building it then but that is what I heard. I know for a fact he did a lot of the magick stuff around this time for his avatar and the guys hanging out with him as storm lord told me directly that halaster would email him the syntax for all the shit they were getting into.
