It's a temp ban, though, or, well, it better be. I know RGS plays some damn good PCs, even if they're confusing and weird as fuck sometimes...I only need to know of one PC to say that.

Most of the time chronic posters on the gdb are far worse twinks and trolls in the game than the people that post here will ever be.
That being said, we don't know if he got banned from the gdb or the game. My money's on a temp ban from the gdb. Very few people ever get banned from the game.

RGS hasn't held any of the staff to some basic standard, or endeavored to encourage them to fulfill the responsibilities they, as unpaid volunteers, have taken upon themselves.
Because of that, there's no reason for him to be banned from the game.

I suppose on the upside, no one can hide behind Nyr anymore, his snark was artistic, once he fucked you over you were like, wait, WHAT?! Why didn't you warn me? It's because the IDB mercilessly punishes people because they can, look, RGS, you have what is it, eight karma? Just how much dick did you have to suck to get it?

I have 4 karma, and only received the 4th recently. I was banned from the forum, not the game, for trying to restart the RAT thread and being snarky to Nergal. It was a 7day ban. They said I was banned for trolling.
I don't hold staff to much of a standard because I know they'll disappoint me, but I give them plenty of shit when I think they deserve it. I try to focus on the good things they do and I often argue with naysayers because I really do enjoy the game, and it helps me to enjoy the game to not constantly whine and bicker over trivial shit. Like for instance, Talia being on staff, or Nyr being an ass. If I see someone making a ridiculous argument or being overly dramatic I'm going to respond, because it's in my nature to do so, regardless of how much I like or dislike staff. Call me a contrarian, but in reality I'm just opinionated and like to argue on the internet. I don't do it to be contrary.
I think staff can be brusque and rude, and can make bad decisions(getting rid of full magickers). I also think they're making the game better and better despite their flaws, and deserve praise for that.

I was actually going to come in and vent a bit about my recent ban, but all I can do is roll my eyes and laugh. It'd be like shouting into the void and makes me wonder if some of us really don't need a firm hand to keep the overblown dramatics to a minimum. You can't shout in the void. They retired Nilazi. |

I have to agree sort of, while it was the center of stupid and snarky comments, I do think that it had its place considering just how long it had been there. Longer than I have been in the game itself so thats something. Still it was a positive thing to say the very least.

I saw RAT as exemplary of the gdb as a whole. If RAT needed to be locked, may as well just lock the entire gdb. I never understood the impulsive need to police those boards when a much better approach to not liking what you read is to simply not read it at all.
