The fact that a shit posting thread was the most popular thread on the board says a lot. When it was locked, not much meaningful discussion was to be had. A few people tried it, but even a lot of those were kind of shit post-y.
The purpose of the discussion board should've been a dialogue between players and staff. When that broke down the RAT was the result. Kind of an ironic acronym, some things were amusing but it was a whole bunch of "my special app 'gick got approved! Yay me!" Or thinly veiled insults to other players. So that rat just kind of festered for a long time.
When a staffer drops the truth bomb of 'we really don't read the gdb' that says the player/staff divide is great. To me it says a lot about what staffers think of players too. But I really won't get into that.
Staff still doesn't say "What do you guys think of this?" often enough. I get that if they did that all the time nothing would get done, but it still needs to happen a little more. Case in point the magick changes; if they had just asked I think that could've had a different result, like not completely getting rid of full mages.
So yeah, RAT=bread for the plebs.

I have a far better time when I stay clear of the gdb apart from clan boards. Here too. I think the game is pretty good at the moment anyways but we shall see.
When Jave was staff he would read the gdb and fix problems instantly. HE WAS A GOD.

baobobThe only good thing is that Talia is just a storyteller, which means she can't screw everything up like she did beforehand. You may be able to get a few months of enjoyment wrung from this corpse of a MUD before she makes it back to Admin.

so how many people still play at peak time these days?
I've been living out of a tent since the first of April, but now the the rafting season is ending, I've been wondering about y'all.
Seems like nothing much has changed.
Maybe it's just about time to shut ole ArmageddonMUD down for good. Obviously, things are still the same as they were during Nyr's time, so maybe people should decide to just shut the entire thing down and call it a closed chapter in all of our lives.
It was a good run, so maybe it should just be ended for good before it somehow manages to devolve into an even greater shitshow.

It's actually gotten much better, Kronibas. Of course there's room for improvement, always will be, and they still make decisions that upset me from time to time, but that's life, and honestly, I'm a shittier player than you and some others who've been banned. It's not unicorns farting rainbows and lollipops, but they seem to be making an honest effort to improve relations and communications over time, despite hitting some bumps here or there. Things take time, especially when habits have become so deeply ingrained.

Finally got around to deleting most of the Arm people from my Facebook.
Why be fake internet friends with people who will throw you under the bus when it comes something as petty as a quibbles over a text based game?
On ArmageddonMUD, friends really aren't a thing... The minute you start to disagree with the powers that be, people will line up to throw you under a bus to keep their cookies.
Those aren't the type of people that make for healthy friendships, and ArmageddonMUD isn't the really the type of game, in terms of fairness or playability, that is conducive to mental health -- unless you are a member of a long running OOC clique of people who veer away from disagreements with those holding "power," like Nyr and the rest.
I think people would be better off if they left it sooner rather than later: for their own sake, and the game's, too:
so that it might actually die in peace.
