On the off chance shenzi decides to reply as someone who has taken heaps of criticism. 1. If you really believe something just give the receipts. Whether they're images or logs or just the logic / feeling you were operating under at the time. 2. You can admit fault without being a hypocrite. You can say I wanted X but apparently Y was the outcome. People can have good intentions and come up short. 3. You can acknowledge something unfavorable to yourself without "losing". People turn a blind eye to stuff all the time. Hell sometimes I don't look at my bank account because I don't want to know how little money I have in it right now (damn inflation). Sometimes I don't respond to text messages because I haven't responded to them and it's been so long it's awkward. You can have been present when bad stuff happened but maybe you just focused on the good. That was other peoples drama and nothing to do with you. It doesn't make it right or wrong it just makes it the truth. People will have opinions about it but hey the truth is the truth. I actually encourage you to respond to some of this stuff. People spend a lot of their life avoiding confrontation with other people and themselves. It's pretty helpful to work through stuff and actually answer for decisions. It helps you more than it helps others but the upside is it earns respect too. She has no intention of participating in good faith. Her first post calls for jcarter to close the shadowboard. She believes this never would have happened if the shadowboard didn't exist. In fact, there would still be a leaker or leakers on staff, feeding information to cheaters, and no one would ever know except the cheaters themselves. She prefers this to the current situation because at least the cheating would be hidden. Nevermind that freaks like Shalooonsh and Brokkr thrived in that environment. Nevermind that Shalooonsh was only exposed and dealt with because the shadowboard existed, because the staff refused to do anything when initial requests came in. Whether she realizes it or not, Usiku is fine with members of the playerbase being stalked and being in danger, and she is fine with half of the playerbase being cheating cliquey assholes, as long as nobody talks about it. I was fooled when Usiku was moved up to Producer, thinking maybe she would have more compassion for the members of the playerbase that have been hurt, but I don't think so. I think she cares about the bone sword game more than the people who actually play it. She is not unlike her predecessors in this way.

I was fooled when Usiku was moved up to Producer, thinking maybe she would have more compassion for the members of the playerbase that have been hurt, but I don't think so. I think she cares about the bone sword game more than the people who actually play it. She is not unlike her predecessors in this way. I felt the same way at first too. This is why it's so ironic when she always says how not all staffers are the same and she should not be held responsible for people before her like Nyr etc. Then show us you're different from them: by being different from them. All you have to do is explain how Shalooonsh and Brokkr would have still been kicked off staff even if the shadow board did not exist. What set of circumstances would allow that to play out? I think it's a fairly reasonable question. |

Every other abusive staff then.
Also people wouldn't have metagamed (On other sources unrelated to these forums, with people not on these forums) if these boards didn't exist.

For a while, there was a post every 1-2 months that read roughly the same way. Someone had done something weird and sexual to the poster without consent.
Those posts gradually slowed as the playerbase declined, and stopped entirely for a while when the r/MUD moderators simply started deleting posts about Armageddon from throwaway accounts.
After a while, Armageddon posts were allowed again, and continued at the old pace for a little while until Shalooonsh was exposed here. Then the posts stopped entirely.
I'm sure that's just a coincidence though.

Not sure if they've realized this, but even if they do re-open the game, they've likely killed it for good this time. Who is going to go back after putting time and effort into their PC only to have the journey cut off abruptly with no warning at all? The game was already struggling. I think that even if it reopens, there won't be much of anyone playing.
Kind of sad. I do hope they open source it at some point. There is a lot of pretty beautiful content there just in room descriptions alone.
