When it became apparent that Bebop no longer had anything left to lose, Bebop no longer had any stake in the game that was the withholding factor of the announcement; and also, when Bebop was disheartened that any attempts to reach the right solution through the staff's invitations & methods, failed; then, Bebop came here! The producer team were poor stewards for allowing this to happen under their watch. I don't think that Usiku and Halaster were "evil" when they did that — I think they were reluctant and unprepared to face the idea that Shaloonsh was a predator, and that they were enabling him. And he was such a good writer, too. This but just wanted to add to something that people may forget or not realize. Shalooonsh took pictures outside of the building I lived and worked in, in a small Midwest city's downtown even though I hadn't seen or spoken to him in over five years. Yes, not having the game would have sucked but I was at actual real risk of being impacted in real life by this unsettling behavior. Shalooonsh used to walk around my block and befriend my neighbors and estranged family members to keep tabs on me. I only knew this man in person like one real life year. This sort of behavior went on for several years, increasingly online, intermittently in person. Most probably don't realize this, but I didn't come forward until about six months after I left the state he was living in/near. Not only did I not care if I was expunged from the game, I finally felt at a physically safe distance and emotionally supported in real life. Because of those things, I didn't have to worry about my real life being impacted anymore or that my place of business/home would be visited if I came forward. As I've emphasized, there have been real life repercussions to the other staff empowering him to use Armageddon MUD as his conduit for connecting with players and triangulating them into online and in-person abuse. damn yeah we should all just forget about those very fucked up things that happened pack it in folks time to move on and get over it

I'm fairly certain the moderators just served as another layer of defense to slow down or deflect 'detractors' from staff doing their job, instead of you know.. Community facilitators / mediators / moderators (gasp).
Weren't most of them aspiring to be hired as staff, former staff who were in on or supportive of the latrine culture or Mansa anyway?

I wouldn't say so, no, not from what I've heard of what they got up to.

The staffing team has changed almost completely. The only people that are on the team now when Shalooonsh was being enabled are Halaster, Usiku, and Eurynomos. Luckily, they don't hold significant positions of power within the -- oh.

The staff will just say it was never reported and that they have no idea what you're talking about, while not paying any regard to the fact that every staff member has access to a "Delete" button on requests. Staff are not supposed to click it, but it's there, and it works. A lot of the requests that staff claim not to find were most likely deleted by Shabago or Shalooonsh. Only Producers can see and use that button. I've never pressed it before, so I just tested it out and you have to fill out a form saying why you are deleting the request, and that is then emailed to the player to let them know the request was deleted (and why).

I will also tiredly repeat that I am a female player, and Brokkr told the staff team the city and state I lived in when I had deliberately never put that information out for safety reasons. It was startling, confusing, and alarming, but I was too meek to speak up about it, and just rolled with the situation in the moment. Knowing the extent that other players were, again, stalked makes it even more disturbing.

Right but that happened before the staff turned good! Nevermind that most of the inactive staff, including Brokkr, get access to an inactive staff channel on Discord where they get to talk with each other and current staff! The current staff team is totes cool now honest!

He can't write worth a shit, had boring characters, and closed out thesis long character reports asking for his feedback with, "Noted." I'm sorry he did this to you. Was it during one of his weird, 2094709347 week long camping sabbaticals? He is literally the epitome of, "stay around and don't make too many waves to get where you want, but also do because Silteyes definitely never cheated because he definitely wasn't Brokkr."

Jcarter, you really ought to shut this shit down already. It's getting old and weird Why can't you just not read it if it bothers you? Why must it be shut down? I find the gdb and arm discord nauseating to read, so I don't. But I have zero opinion whether it stays or goes (and there's definitely some creepy and weird shit there, like the shalooonsh and brokkr enablers still being the ones in charge). This board, perhaps unwittingly and unintentionally, serves as an opportunity for players like myself to commiserate with others over the rampant cheating that staff inflicted upon us for decades. I was the dumb one for staying as long as I did and putting up with it, but it happened and I'm glad to see my feelings validated by similar stories others share here. When I first came here I was like holy shit so I'm not insane, staff (as a culture, not an individual) do these things to other players too! And yet somehow you'd prefer if those conversations took place behind closed doors in private chats rather than on a public discussion board like this. Why? [/quote]

We removed the toxic elements and began rebuilding, Those toxic elements have names. You don't have to dance around the subject, you definitely don't have to be politically correct here! Mansa can't censor you for citing facts. Those names (among others) are Shalooonsh and Brokkr. And remind me, what did it take for you to remove those toxic elements in the first place? What exactly was it that resulted in a staggeringly slow response, a cheap excuse ("we had no idea!"), and then a pathetic sidestep saying he has "voluntarily stepped down" before fiiiiiiiinally agreeing to ban him, and then fiiiiiiiinally agreeing to ban his player account some time after that too? Help me recollect what it was that helped instigate the removal of the toxic elements you speak of. Just shut the game down for good, Usiku. It's old and weird.

So, ArmageddonMud was suspended because staff was cheating and they couldn't find which of their own was fucking everyone over.
Something just like that happened at the community pool several weeks ago. All the guards blew their whistles, got everyone out of the water, and closed for the day. There was a floating turd. Except, that time, no one announced to everyone that all the lifeguards were under active investigation because there was ironclad proof that one of them was the culprit.

On the off chance shenzi decides to reply as someone who has taken heaps of criticism. 1. If you really believe something just give the receipts. Whether they're images or logs or just the logic / feeling you were operating under at the time. 2. You can admit fault without being a hypocrite. You can say I wanted X but apparently Y was the outcome. People can have good intentions and come up short. 3. You can acknowledge something unfavorable to yourself without "losing". People turn a blind eye to stuff all the time. Hell sometimes I don't look at my bank account because I don't want to know how little money I have in it right now (damn inflation). Sometimes I don't respond to text messages because I haven't responded to them and it's been so long it's awkward. You can have been present when bad stuff happened but maybe you just focused on the good. That was other peoples drama and nothing to do with you. It doesn't make it right or wrong it just makes it the truth. People will have opinions about it but hey the truth is the truth. I actually encourage you to respond to some of this stuff. People spend a lot of their life avoiding confrontation with other people and themselves. It's pretty helpful to work through stuff and actually answer for decisions. It helps you more than it helps others but the upside is it earns respect too.
