Not in my experience and I sincerely hope that you are wrong. If it's common practice to store special app characters after 2 weeks of inactivity that's something that needs to be changed. The only reason it was a special character was that it was one point above my karma level. If there was any special plots that required my character the staff failed to make me aware of it.

I'm confused, he specifically told you that you were stored because you weren't playing your special application character for two weeks? What kind of crap is that? Surely there was something else?

Yes. He wrote a note saying that he was storing the clan members who weren't active. He said he was storing my character because I hadn't played for two weeks and because prior to that I had only been playing once a week for a couple of hours. No other explanation was given.

That sucks, especially to do it to a special app. Were they closing the clan or something?

The policy for most special app roles IN A CLAN is at least weekly activity... or if you can't log into the game to communicate at least weekly with the staff. I don't know if you did that, but I've as a clan leader, dropped people from the clan that were AWOL for around 2 weeks with no post in email or on board about where they went.

I've been in inactive in a clan for much, much, much longer than that without any repercussions (not a special app role though). I'm talking months. I probably deserved repercussions, but... In contrast, I don't think not being able to play a game for a couple of weeks warrants a storage. At the very least, it sounds like there's a lot of inconsistency.

That sucks, especially to do it to a special app. Were they closing the clan or something? Not at all. Still active. bmj2It sounds like it might be a more common practice than I thought. That's very silly and needs to be changed. It would be helpful if the staff laid out a clear and consistent policy on how inactivity is treated. Two weeks is too short. Most real life organizations will not kick you out for missing two weeks.

It should never be the onus of the player to be like... shocked that their behavior was unacceptable due to it never being explained by the staff.

I might be misunderstanding it. But if it is a matter of a delf, then I find it at least somewhat understandable. Say there's a limit of 5 PCs for SLK. Someone special apped a delf but isnt playing him. While others are asking to join in. So Nyr nixed him.
At the same time, it would mean the player was relatively new and it was possibly his very first 1 karma role. Which is a pretty dickish move to store someone like that over so little.

It was a tribal role but there are easy solutions to that dilemma that do not require storing anyone. The dilemma could even be avoided by being somewhat liberal with player caps. The PC population doesn't represent the NPC population. Especially not to a degree where people need to be nixed after not playing for a couple of weeks so that one group doesn't have one more active member than another group.

If the game had more players due to the imms not being such Dick Sucking Fuckwads, this would not be an issue.

We get it, you're disgruntled. If you have nothing worth adding to a thread, please don't bother posting in it.
