I played in Tuluk, in one of the most pro-Tuluki institutions, for 8 months and knew of Shalooonsh's PC by his own finagling and going out of his way to 'accidentally' contact me and set up RP. My character even went to Allanak to visit him as a sort of peaceful ambassadorship (before I knew he was staff) because I wanted to do something that didn't involve murking the enemy, at least not right away.
There seems to be an expected denominator here, but I'll say it out loud -- he seemed to really get involved with female/femme players' characters. He seemed to interact with male/masc PC and players to a far lesser extent, period.

I stated this about a week ago and got some weird pushback along the lines of " But Shalooonsh likes dicks too!" How about we just agree he's a 50 year old man who gets off by being rapey with people on a text based game... A text based game he has also encouraged children like Thomoto to play... *THONK FACE*

The thing that continues to baffle me about all of this is how easy it would have been to do the right thing, as long as they were willing to be firm and take a stand. Instead we got this wishy washy, defensive stuff, and then a bunch of fumbling half-measures, and I was trying so hard to give the benefit of the doubt because apparently I never learn my lesson about optimism. Apparently it's impossible to offer an unqualified apology, admit fault, and promise to try and do better... and then put it in action. Instead they're doing the "put things in action" thing first as if it'll soothe all the hurt feelings, and man, I know it's gotta be chaotic, but if it's taking this long to come to a consensus about amnesty and apologies, that says something right there. Cart before horse, as per fucking usual. Yeah, we want action, but we also want to be reassured that they understand what the goddamn problem is that they're fixing, so we can be reassured that they're fixing THOSE goddamn problems.
Instead it just looks like more of the same old same old under the veneer of "we're giving you want you wanted, more player agency!"
barf.
I really need to look away from this trainwreck.

Staff likes to 'focus on the future' and 'action' and then not do anything in the now or later

The water-carrying for the staff sickens me almost as much as the staff do. The players who keep saying that staff are trying their best just completely forgot that Shalooonsh's antics were ignored for decades and that staff are only making amends because of the pressure placed on them recently. Had the conversation here about Shalooonsh's abuse not happened, it would just be business as usual. The staff are not motivated by doing the right thing, and so they cannot and will not do it, and the players waiting for them to do it are suckers.

I really need to look away from this trainwreck. Good idea. Leave them to rot and kudos to all for taking out some abject, utterly awful administrators.

I am absolutely going to keep looking at it. Perhaps I am a chump, but I still think there is a chance for a better resolution than the previous status quo.
Acknowledging of course the active bungling and clearly not-done things that should immediately have been done.

Someone who's been in the military suggesting Arm should be governed like the military. I have my opinion. We have lots of vets here. What's yours?

DesertT comes off as the kind of guy who regularly plays checkers with a pigeon and usually loses. Tailong is not that far off.
And they're both just there to give staff cover when they inevitably do nothing to change the system the community runs on. Their opinion is an irrelevant distraction.

My dad was in the military and I have the ability to: Read what others have read online.
From what I have gathered Arm Staff already has a good ole boys club. They don't let outsiders in to police their stuff.
They already have their military court wtf else do they want.
I guess both Arm and the Military have a sexual harassment problem.

What's yours? i’m a vet and my opinion is who gives a fuck what vets think. desertt reads like he just wants someone to undo all the sissy shit and code rape into a skill that branches from subdue.

I think it would be more based if subdue branched from rape but I'm fine with either or.
