It only increases your regen if you're in an area with a high level of life in the land. Being in the south doesn't give much of a regen because it's been defiled to all hell, but you'll really see the difference if you're somewhere less barren, like the north.

Watering plants works too. Plants that grow things grow things faster when they get watered.

Grey water, muddy water, viv water, and normal water all work fine. Shit water actually hurts the plants.
