(chance to hit)================= piercing slashing chopping bludgeoing =====================(damage)
Piercing weapons do less damage but haver the highest chance to hit. Bludgeoning weapons do the most damage but have the lowest chance to hit.
Is that correct?

Never heard of that. For the most part this is what I've observed in my 16+ yrs on arm.
Bludgeoning- If you hit with them you do extra stun damage than other weapons. To the head/neck especially easy to knock people out with bludgeons. Chopping- seems to ignore some heavy armors, so if going up against heavily armored people good to use choppers. slashing- overall around good weapons. Nothing fancy about them, I think they are the most balanced weapon to use in the game and for good reason it's a fucking sword. piercing- I've never noticed anything special about piercing weapons. They might penetrate lighter armors easier or heavier armors easier, it's the weapon type I have the least experience with. I do know that you need stabbers to backstab so.. yeah. I'd say piercing are the lowest tier weapon just because there aren't that many around and nobody tends to use them except the stealthy types who thats all they have.
for the advanced weapons: razoring- fucking insane. these things destroy armor in only a few hits. It's stupid. polearm - not sure. pike -? knifing - these I think allow you to attack faster than most weapons I think there's whipping weapons but im not sure.

Razoring are 'lacerating' in game. They are technically little razor blades that are hard to find and or craft. It's so stupid that it would destroy armor the way it does.

Do you have an example of a razor weapon? Is lacerating a weapon skill that admins hand out?

a sleek, ivory-handled razor- most common one I've ever seen in game. Seen it at the salarr weapon shop a few times selling for about 1.2k or so.
a leathern gloveblade- oldschool original 'lacerating' weapon. Even before ness finally coded the 'advanced' weapon skills this was the coolest weapon around the problem is nobody used it. The one guy I remember having one was the Kadian hunter Lius played by Clegane.

So other than a few old school weapons that have some kind of code bonus to them, code wise the only thing that differs from one ldesc sword to the next (or same weapon type) is weight or weight and material? The ten stone Obsidian Longsword etched/plain/jade militia/smelly gith are all the same and equal to the bone obsidian edged or fancy Mek bone ones as far as code goes?

No, that's actually not true.
Weapon damage depends on several factors, including material, weight, and kind of an arbitrary +/-. A long time ago I actually had the material chart, but as best I remember it goes:
Wood Stone Bone Obsidian Metal
Inside the categories there were others, but that's on a laptop that's long since died (and it is probably out of date, now).

Can that hierarchy be applied to armors too?

The Shadow Sentinel:
Nekrete, the 137th day of the Low Sun In the Year of Lirathu's Slumber, year 16 of the 22nd Age, Allanak, Western Gates -
Unholy theft! It appears some crafty yet dastardly elves have manage to melt down and steal the steel dragon in the middle of last night. How they accomplished this is anyone's guess. Multiple witnesses mentioned gicker activity. How will He respond?! What does the Arm have to say about this unholy atrocity? More to come!

Can that hierarchy be applied to armors too? While I think yes, I've never explicitly seen the armor list. The list I used to have (circa 2005 or so, I think) specifically related to weapon material types, and did not include armor.
