Is there any safe and reliable way for a 'rinther warrior to skill up, or are true alleyborn warriors doomed to risk it all twinking up on deadly 'Rinth or late-night Allanak NPCs?
Or is selling out like a not-true-alleyborn cuntsmack and doing a stint in the Byn still one of the few "safe" ways to have a go at it?

safe and reliable, thats a no both icly and oocly. if u want to mitigate that some u join a criminal org so that u run a chance of meeting other street fighters u can work with + u get more leeway in habitually defending urself against rinth npcs
an alley fighter or as u said rinth warrior even conceptually wouldnt be expected to be on the same level of standup melee as someone trained formally in an academy. the types of things u will have an easier time consistently training are stealth attacks (doubly so if ur working with a partner) and dirty fighting in general, throwing, etc. whether ur fighting muggers in the rinth or being a mugger southside
doing a rinthbased warrior buildup is a lesson in patience but it can be done, at least to 'wontgetmyasshandedtomebyabynrecruit' lvls, which can be improved even more if u have a partner to train with

What abuzer said. Also, stats matter quite a bit in the rinth. Exceptional strength + bludgeon means you can mug most npcs right out of chargen.
There's a great labyrinth thread started way back when the shadow boards was still pumping out a lot of quality information and helpful topics. I would check it out. Gives you tips on how to grind without getting PKed and also tells you where most of the hidden npcs are, etc.
