Good news, Arm players who enjoy rectal soreness! His Nyrness has decreed a withdrawal fee on bank accounts. gdb.armageddon.org/index.php/topic,49786.msg899848.html#new
I'm going to assume this will be far more severe for those indies Nyr hates the ever-loving shit out of. Reaction can be seen over in this thread here: gdb.armageddon.org/index.php/topic,49788.0.html
The players posting seem pretty relaxed about a pointless coin-drain being added to the game that gives them nothing in return. The staff don't appear to have gone full retard in the implementation, but I wouldn't hold out any hope they'll take this shit out. Remember that (yet again) instead of fixing the many long-running problems in the game, they have instead created a new problem and called it a feature. It's here to stay. Upper staff are still too blinded by arrogance to realize the amazing amount of stupidity they're committing in the vain hopes of herding active players intostaff-run bureaucratic black holes clans that indies have no interest in ever being a part of.
Oh, and so we're clear, I'm not disparaging the change calling it a sink.
I really can't see this working to boost theft. The scale has outrageously high fees, which will apply to people who could just keep their money on clan property, or harmless fees that won't discourage anyone from keeping their money unstealable. The only people likely to feel the sting of this are -- wait for it -- successful indy players.
Aren't those the players Nyr hates the ever-loving shit out of? Because IIRC he despises them. I guess if they really wanted to dodge the fees they could always enter the bureaucratic, forced-interaction-with-our-bored-to-tears-nobles coin sink of player-created clans. It'll just take them years of ignoring passive-aggression while passive-aggressively finding themselves aggressed (passively) towards the ease of just joining a clan. I mean why struggle on your own when with only a little boot licking you can experience having every bit of personal initiative destroyed by a staff overburdened by work they create for themselves?
(As an aside, I created this thread since the discussion on the SB will eventually go the way of feature and mastercraft requests.)
EDIT: Noteworthy stupidity
"Taxes" are not a thing you get for spending coin, comrade.
Nenyuk Bank Changes

Banking will now incur fees for withdrawals.
This fee is dependent on the size of the account. Small enough withdrawals/accounts will instead be subject to a minimum transaction fee for withdrawals (as that would be greater).

Creating an additional place for a money sink.
Before today, banks were completely safe places to keep money for free. Now you can keep that money there for free, but taking it out will cost you. If having more money is important than having safe (but a smaller amount of) money, the character may choose to keep the money around rather than in a bank account--meaning that now the money is vulnerable for theft.

Out of curiosity, what is the desired/expected effect? I can guess, but it'd be nice to hear. (I don't think it was in the announcement - and thanks! I just get all excited about any change.)

We might change the gradient in either direction. We'll see whether this has the desired/expected effect, first.

Wasn't there a thread not all that long ago talking about how indie players stack tons of coin and got nothing to spend it on, now they drop a tax and people are complaining about high taxes. You can't win!
