You can do whatever you like. I just think it's a distraction, and probably not worth drawing attention to unless someone is being loudly and obviously malevolent. The fact that this thread even came into existence, and people are discussing it, is proof enough that it's drawn attention away from Asan's very real and legitimate complaints. i mentioned it once in chat after seeing reasonable's post. this thread was, iirc, posted before i even mentioned it in chat. tbh this cycle always happens. someone regs, has an account mostly devoted to being contrarian with a side of salty, then flips out when other poster disagree with them. i think people come here with the expectation that this is going to be like GDB and they can post snarky, baiting comments with impunity because if someone talks trash back to them they'll be protected by the Mods From Above. then they stomp off declaring how this place is becoming an echo chamber/full of jcarter's bootlickers/just angry nerds with a hint of martyr complex, as if they descended from the heavens of Armageddon MUD to save us with high-quality posting that quickly devolves into sticking fingers in the ears and yelling about how it's always the player's fault. Honestly, I wasn't even thinking of your actions when I posted. Simply referring to the general hew and alarm of a staffer in our midst. Not only that, I highly doubt he's a staffer, so in a way, it's silly. There are lots of GDB apologists around here who have never been staff, and never will be. |

i wasn't following the thread very closely but besides @oldtwink who calls everyone staff and one other person, who was actually doing any of this?
jfc a tiny minority of people on the board have an opinion they post and suddenly it blows up into a "general hew and alarm" and gets "all the attention"

Your move. i'm not mad or anything i'm just pointing out that just because two people have an opinion on something doesn't make it the official Shadow Board Stance or w/e. but to actually address another part of the OP: it has nothing to do with that. it has to do with taking the opinion in the context of who is saying it. working for RJ Reynolds isn't a crime and doesn't mean what an exec says is worthless but you sure would take their statement that smoking is a perfectly fine habit to have in the context of who was saying it. |
