He was under the impression that he would annoy *** if he had attorney letters sent to Ginka's physical address, but really, Saikun would have probably been the recipient unless something changed, which would have been unfortunate because nearly every time I have seen Saikun write something publicly, it has been nice/cheerful/informative/benign. He even used to pop into the old IRC room on occasion - and not as some brooding authoritative presence, but just a normal dude talking about Armagddon.

If you want to play Arm, just be open with who you are, and do your thing. What are you missing out on? That hot new templar application? You were never going to get it anyways. I would never hide my ISP from anywhere I was playing. As a rule I avoid places I'd have to sneak onto, and I'm not gonna make up a new identity to curry favor with people I already know are assholes. I don't have to curry favor with those who aren't assholes. I have a history, they have a history, if both parties can't respect that, you're better off somewhere else.
Take the worst veteran on this board with ten years of history or a bunch of squabbles and fights with staff. They'll still respect you more than if you were pretending to be a newb. Life is too short to waste it on second, third and fourth impressions.

I agree with sirra. Hiding and being found is worse than being truthful. Although I will say you could get a templar app eventually: as someone who had some shit notes on a lot of my earlier characters, you can make up for any bad things you did within months of decent play. No blowjobs required.

Not to mention that the grudge-holders tend to be producers who have no official choice in picking sponsored roles. The admins for the clan group do. Although to be fair, Nyr and Adhira are admins for GMH as well as Producers due to the lack of a separate GMH admin

If I thought I could play Armageddon without receiving a lot of negative bias or without being brick walled, then I probably would.

Besides, who wants to play a sponsored role when it basically requires you to be up the staff's ass?
Sorry, once upon a time in a land far away, you did not get in trouble because of not sending in reports to a clan staff member outlining what you were doing and so on and so forth. If the staff member had a question or a problem, they either found out via their avatar or just emailed you.
Even if none of this shadow board posting stuff had went down, I would be against taking most sponsored roles because of how beholden they make you to staff. The fact that they can be insta stored for almost any reason is absurd, too. Those kinds of roles are a joke and serve to put players under the thumbs of staff members - at the expense of their autonomy.
And no... It has /not/ always been that way. Instead of an improvement, it seems like a bunch of bureaucratic fuckery that a text based roleplaying game really doesn't need.

If you don't have your heart set on a sponsored role, and just want to play a typical grebber/mercenary in the karma 1-3 range then you can pretty much do whatever you like, so long as you don't like mail anthrax to them.
If you want to be a templar, or app into a public roll call for a sponsored app (which gets dozens of bright-eyed applicants each time), or a Nilazi/Psionicist/Slipknife exile mantis noble, then that will never happen. If you can make peace with that, then you will be fine.
And get past the hump of thinking you're going to build some new outpost, or tower, or found a village. Dozens of groups and people have had that motivation, and jumped through many hoops to see it done, and it has not happened in the last ten years. So it's probably not exclusive to you as to the reason why it's not happening. (Feel free to speculate).

If you want to log in and don't want to hassle with proxy servers, load up chrome, find ChroMud and it will route you through amazon's servers rather than flashing your regular IP to the game you're connecting to.

I have try to reconcile your relationship with the staff, though that's probably not possible so... I am living in USA and using USA VPN for all restrictions.. It's about 80 bucks a year and I can switch servers up to 7 times a month. The great thing about these VPNs is they don't slow your connection down at all. Just install their software pay yer bill for a year and it will auto-connect every-time your PC boots. It's probably the best security you can actually have these days.
