I haven't played in a while, but only because I'm just busy. I don't see myself playing any time soon either.
As far as the staff, they'd be well served if they had a better attitude and better communication skill. Often times I wonder if they even care. Maybe it's due to lack of time available to the game and it is easy to forget other's humanity when you RP in a world where you treat everyone like crap anyway, and when it's time to deal with REAL people, the internet makes it difficult to remember they're humans.
Sometimes I wonder if they realize the extent and effect the attitude they have, the administrators/staff, has on the game/players.

I don't give a single flying fuck if you're a volunteer UNPAID volunteers I don't think anyone wants special treatment. I think people just want to be shown respect, to not be talked down to, to not be bullied by vindictive staff members, to be able to submit items and not have those items completely mangled because the staff member doing the submission has a different writing style, to not have their groups systemically boatmurdered to death once they become popular to the point taking players from staff pet clans, to not have their karma levels nerfed because the current incarnation of Armageddon staff has a different opinion about that player than different incarnations of Armageddon staff, to not be bullied or cut down or spoken down to because they suffer from mental illness, to not be marginalized because of something like chronic illnesses or disabilities or other impairments, and more. i'd say most people would be happy just havng the staff out of the way. To be able to do build something up themslves. To direct the activity of other players inspired to join in on the thng youve got going voluntarily because you've created something to do. I see the Internet filled with things about discrimination toward minorities these days It only seems that way becaus so many people are inventing new minorties to claim theyre an oppressd part of. Chik-fil-a is a fundamentally good restaurant, but I don't buy their tasty chicken fucking sandwiches because they're a bunch of bigoted religious fuckwits. christ, kron, stop perpetrating that myth. They donatd food to a defense of marriage group and gay bullshit artists conflated that into the owner wanting to exterminate homosexuals. people can disagree on small points without wanting to stuff people into ovens. And serve their remains as superior-quality chicken sammiches. take that nonsense to tumblr.
I'm semi burnt out after a few events involving staff. Level of giveafuck is pretty low. I'm in a place where I can play much less and genuinely enjoy the game as a result. Less fucks given = more fun had. I feel like the more you invest into the game with unrealistic expectations the more disappointed you'll be. If you wanna play, just be realistic about what the game is. arm's native son having second thoughts? Worrisome. doesnt speak well to the future.

But without realizing it. They inject themselves into as much of the game as possble. But then they get upset about how much they have to do. and start seeing players as entitled for expecting a quick turnaround on something the staff made require staff approval that players could previously do with autonomy

Typically the term "volunteer work" means unpaid. If there is volunteer work that I can get paid for, sign me up!

Hey
Can you fuck off
Or are you just going to frantically post for the next week and then disappear again? You need to keep a journal or something instead of coming here to act like an aspie.

Jesus guys, we don't need a post here. Play if you wanna play, or don't.
Game's not gonna change. Ever.
The best time I ever had on the mud was when I didn't have to deal with staff through email.

Some people, not all by any means, who staff on ArmageddonMUD, see it as a free pass to fucking people over just because of old beef/smug judgment/because their friends are haters/whatever... Sorry, those cool kids can go to hell. Not playing their game, but I played it for over half of my life, so I can sit back and discuss what's fucked up about it in hopes that, uhhh, maybe something changes. Bitterflashback, wipe that Polynesian sauce off your chin mane. I never tumbled in my life. The only instagrams I've ever done were for $20 a piece. And I had to see too many pics of fundies stuffing their faces with chicken salads and God damn brownies to ever feel comfortable eating that chicken swill again... Sorry... But a fella has to have principles... You know? Rogue Gun Slinger, son, did you not even know that I am an aspie skin walker? Better ask somebody mane.

You think anyone who comes here is NOT acting like an aspie? Other than the ones who are here sheerly to troll, everyone is. I'm an aspie, I know this.

Lulz, I think Arm has changed a lot from when I first started playing it.
Yeah, a lot of the changes made sense.
But when you have all these different mother fuckers making changes, well, shit gets all fucked up. and when the shit getting fucked up is the people part of it, well, then that's a little different from mechanics. It can be changed. It's changed before, drastically. It will change again, maybe drastically or maybe not. Or I may be wrong and the current incarnation of the wizlist might cling tenaciously to their thing until they die of old age while watching some current players grandkid mud sex. I don't know. No one does.
hell, I won't speculate much, either. I was one of those dumb asses who maintained that Arm 2 was going to be a thing until the very last minute, so that shows you how much I know.

I'm not referring to changes in the coded sense, but rather things staff side. Different staff members have come and gone, but by and large they're still doing the same thing they've always done in my opinion. Halaster for instance was just more blatant in his cheating than Nyr was, but in the end, no character lives forever. I understand you're hurting and want the game to change and for staff to wake up and realize that imposing unrealistic expectations on players might not be the best way to promote their game, but the best thing you can do is just walk away and stop trying to be a champion. It's not worth it. It really isn't.

the M.O. here has been what I set it down to be a long time ago - do whatever you have fun doing. if you have fun playing arm then by all means play it. if you don't, then don't.

It's not worth it. It really isn't. Lulz, you're right, but it is just hard to accept not being able to comfortably participate in something that was a huge part of my life for a long, long time. I am just bitter, and I probably should just walk away... But just like in 12 step meeting, it's sometimes cathartic to get stuff off your chest. And I know I've been doing that a lot, but I mean, halting a lifelong obsession is something that's challenging. It makes it a lot easier when people treat you like trash, though. Jcarter, yeah. To be sure, I am not hating on people who DO play the game - I still have a ton of friends who do, and hopefully I will continue to be friends with them because or their choices. Back to lulz... You know, just by effortlessly writing some stuff and pointing things out, I helped spur a groundbreaking marijuana legalization movement in Mississippi that now commands a fuckton or flesh and blood, street level activists. Yes, the situations are apples and oranges, but I suppose that the moral of the story is: there is no telling what will happen once you start calling bullshit. Maybe nothing, maybe a paradigm shift. But, to be sure, I am not trying to spend too much time beating this horse. However, I don't think I'm finished writing about Armageddon, and I have some rather, ahhh; interesting cards up my sleeve that I haven't dealt yet. I'm saving those for when Nyr and co decide that they want to go full retard...
