From what I've read, being tall gives you a higher walking speed, and makes you much more likely to succeed and resist being bashed. Does being super short help anything? I don't like playing ridiculously tall guys in a sea of ridiculously tall guys, but I've never seen a pro for not being max height/weight.

I've never seen or heard of any advantages from being short.

To be fair, dwarves don't deserve any further coded benefits in terms of height, regarding their already ridiculous strength.

I've noticed that even when I prioritize strength and play a class with a strength bonus, my small characters will consistently have higher agility. This could mean they get an agility bump, a strength penalty, or both.

High height/weight = better endurance and strength.
Short/thin = better agility.
It's why a looooot of the warriors in game have cheesy meathead mdescs. I don't even pretend otherwise. If staff dislodged stats from size I'd play dudes of all heights and weights, but right now a large size is just too useful.
Oh, and big dudes can sometimes not fit into caves. Big whoop.

Let's not skip the fact that cheesy meatheads are better fighters in rl, too.

Dunno about the agility, I've had my agility be all over the board. I tend to play min height female pcs. When they're a stealthy guild, I always RP sneak/hide/shadow as easily being dwarfed by the massively tall elves and people around her so she's hard to see from a little ways off.
Anecdotal, they seem to have better wis/agi than not. But I tend to play ranger/assassin/merchant/magicker, so of course they would. Guild-based.
Unless it was changed since 2010, though, there is NOT a bonus to any stat that is specific to height/weight, OR a penalty. Those are attached to guild. They may or may not affect skills, but they do not affect stat rolls.

Any chance you've looked into the fact that people typically play warriors with that height/weight max, and stealthies with the height/weight min? Those bonuses and penalties are related to guild. Not height/weight unless the stat system has changed since 2010-2011.

if a muscular dude is slow it's because he's lazy, not because of size. anyone who thinks beefy = slow should go a round with george foreman or tyson and then report the results.
