I'd say you don't really need to do anything for desert elves in my experience. SR and Soh do plenty enough to control their turf, and more than a few from what I've seen don't hesitate to PK at all. On the other hand, I totally agree with the sentiment that there does need to be a more aggressive human tribe out there. City elves might need some love sure, but I'm really bored of all the human tribes that remain basically being Kurac's little bitches that are according to their docs either just 'amorous and prone to fun and trade' or all about maintaining limited peace because their numbers are completely decimated. It's like seriously? No human tribals who are aggressive left? I mean, honestly I'm getting the feeling the human tribals are more like...actually, I'm just not even going to go there. Needless to say, the human tribes don't have a bit of 'savagery' to them, beyond maybe getting rid of the sorts they don't like INTERNAL to their tribe.

I would argue that there are no clans in Arm currently that have any 'savagery' to them. The Soh Lanah Kah come really close, but I haven't played one so I wouldn't be able to tell.

Nah
Probably the closest, though
Edit: besides the rinth for a while

By savagery I mean willing to PK you..
I've always enjoyed the fact that Arm had a high turnover for PCs. You shouldn't see PCs living for years and years. Where's the danger? Unless you're a merchant that sits around in a compound (and even then) you should always be in danger on Arm, whether you draw the wrath of a templar, or the attention of the guild, far too many people live long lives these days.. sigh.

Well if that's your definition of savagery add the Legion and Arm because they'll jail you and tortue you to death in seconds if you're a cunt. Add Kurac if you enter Luirs and don't suck their e-peens.

That's not what I'm talking about. Players that are out for easy pkills will always exist. I'm talking about legit badasses like the Blackwing that would roleplay with you. Show you how badass they are then kill if you don't high tail it out of the tablelands. Instead these days you get people spam chasing you, or trying to kill you with 3-4 others in an apartment. That's not badass that's just you showing how not badass you are by ganking someone.

That's not badass that's just you showing how not badass you are by ganking someone. Delerak should make a guide about roleplaying a legit badass in Arm. He's one of the very few people (there's at least one other on this board, to be fair, but I'm not hip to everyone's alt history), that has ever played a badass without making me roll my eyes. But who I actually feared and respected, in game. And not just because of some sorc-related fuckery. A hint: Coded power has nothing to do with it. Like those newbie templars or nobles who panic and get all sweaty palmed and spam 'order guard subdue elf' the moment they feel an inking of alarm. It's more like an elaborate cat and mouse game.

I think my favorite raiding scene ever was the one where I was the raider and I had a whiran doing it. >.> Once the other player showed they were willing to roleplay out a scene, she even turned visible to sit and talk with him for a bit. She was banging a gypsy and the guy she held up had a live gwoshi so she demanded he let it go (if I recall right, it was Dregg, the mesh-scarred dwarf). That guy was so awesome, I'd had the chance to interact with him for a long ass time before it happened, over many different characters, but that hold up scene was probably my favorite, because you don't often enough see raiding scenes that people leave alive, in the post red fang game world.
The red fangs were also pretty damn great at raiding roleplay. They were badass enough motherfuckers not to feel threatened and gank for no reason, and that shit made them legend.

Ok, I get you, but it's not like every Soh is a complete badass with wonderful roleplay who gives great raiding scenes, and every city dweller is a complete twink. I've had ton more good PKs in the rinth than in the Pah but I guess that's because I like actual PvP instead of killing the same animal mob for the hundredth time and sometimes coming across an outsider who I have the perfect legit background lore to justify a kill for.
ie. generalizations are meh and creating player conflict out of actual roleplay is cool

I remember having a scene with one of the red fangs. He made my palms sweat cause I knew he was codedly powerful but he never killed me outright. In fact I was afk for 10 mins or so and he sat there patiently waiting for me to get back to my PC. It was a fun scene and I never actually died but I knew at a moments notice he wouldn't hesitate to scalp me if I fucked up the deal we made.

But they were all right. It was good to have a tribe around trying to play 'average' desert elves. And now and then they'd have a cool group. By contrast, in almost ten years, I can't even remember a Sun Runner I respected. Sun Runners always had a gypsy vibe to them, as in - gee, better not mess with them, they have staff protection and overpowered code advantages. But that was more contempt than respect. The only delves I remember being routinely impressed by were the Blackwing and the Red Fangs. Although, who knows how good the Red Fangs would've turned out if Abuzer hadn't done Arm a favor and committed genocide on the first unhappy trial batch of them. Dune stalkers or whatever the fuck they were called...the guys with the little daggers around their throats, I remember as always trying to act badass but mostly being obnoxious. It was more a game of how many of them we could kill and collect their daggers rather than fear or respect.

Dune stalkers were bhags little project so.. of course they were dramatic and silly and obnoxious.. Soh on the other hand, arguably one of the better (best) d-elf tribes in the game was conceived by Hot Dancer. I was around when he was working on it and we collab'd a bit. I don't think he liked me though, we had several PK fests with one another.
