There used to be a newbie guide done by mansa that was linked somewhere on the forums, but I'm not certain if it still is or no. Welcome to Armageddon, eazy, I haven't played since August of 2013, but I was on staff for a little while and generally enjoy hanging out here and offering commentary/pretending to be social with those in the community still. I'm glad you've found the boards helpful, and of course, if you have any questions you're worried might out you or that you don't want to ask the helpers, feel free to PM me or probably anyone who's replied to you so far on the thread here.  Have fun, and it's nice to see a new face (so to speak, lol). |

Assess doesn't work on weapons you don't have the skill for? That certainly would explain why every freaking time I assessed a magical weapon, I'd draw a blank.. Yeah, it makes sense. Alright. I'm gonna test this on am axe the very next time I play a non warrior/ranger, but it sounds sensible.
Also, concerning food, you may want to buy from the Allanaki butcher rather than from the Gaj. The butcher is on commoner's way, and they sell dried meat at a wayyyy cheaper price than any other store does.

Sunbacks were the creature that used to have a special attack. It'd whip its tail at your opponent. Pull reins might have been the command to activate it, I don't know, my characters rode kanks back then  I don't know why the command/code was removed, but it was, many years ago. As a "mob" the sunback is a decent challenge IIRC. Not monumental but not easy either for a character who isn't buff or wearing/using special gear/magicks etc. Just the average Joe ranger with a weapon. I think this was also restricted to rangers/half-elves (maybe ratlons as well as sunbacks had this ability.) It was a command wuth no delay and no cost that could be spammed. IIRC it was removed because it could be majorly abused, especially to PK. Then they added trample/charge. Anyone with a high ride can branch trample. |
