A paralyzed character is such a sitting duck codewise that catching a peraine arrow tends to mean certain death if your assailant has any melee weapon on them.
It's also the go-to poison of mage killers, since most mages tend to suck when caught in melee.

Hey, I've just been wondering how come peraine is considered so deadly. I've never been poisoned with it, nor have I poisoned anyone with it, so I've only just heard of it. But from what I've come to understand it paralyzes the character. But I also thought that once you initiate combat with the char, they become mobile again. So how does it turn into such a murder trap? Because initiating combat does not end the paralysis. Peraine doesn't always take effect. Every single time I've seen someone try to capture a pc with peraine, they've had enough force to kill that pc instead. |

If you're paralyzed there is a save-check (thank god) that might break the paralysis and allow you to fight back/run. It's happened to a few of my dwarves actually. The higher yer endurance/poison resist the better the chance.
I'm fairly certain each attack on the person the save-check is thrown to see if they come out of the paralysis.

More likely a save per time increment or combat round. I've lost a HG rukkian to those crystalline gaj, if ya know what I mean. |

Well if you're fighting a peraine-on-hit animal you are kind of fucked. If you get paralyzd by them and then they keep attacking and re-peranin' yah. I meant you take an arrow or knife wound that is peraine'd and a PC attacks you to kill you.

So how does it turn into such a murder trap? Every log I posted in the spoilers forum had someone dying or almost dying from peraine. Loaded up with peraine is the only way any serious ranger or assassin will consider going into a pvp situation against a dangerous opponent. |

Good rangers can kill you without it but I do totally agree. Once you get strong enough as a ranger you will just get your hands on some peraine and its GG WP.
