I had a half-giant ranger once, with AI strength, and exceptional in everything else, except I think, maybe a VG or an EG in wisdom.
He could kill anything, riding around, dual-wielding. He was an utter beast. But I almost entirely stayed to myself with him, and the more I played him, the more I hated half-giants. Everyone reacts the same to every half-giant they meet. I tried to play him as more grim and laconic rather than as the happy retard, but it made no difference. After a while, I just couldn't do it anymore. It was just an endless horizon of dead meks and following my betters around. Not to mention, playing a half-giant that isn't comic relief stupid is a ripe field for all sorts of accusations. Excuse me, but I've known big, stupid, semi-retarded people IRL. They were FAR more scary than funny.
But he was a grotesquely powerful character, and could've amounted to much more than I explored with him before getting jaded. Those that played an HG ranger, will know that there is a huge hump to get over at the start, which is very different from playing a warrior (no shield, no parry to fall back on). But if you stick with it long enough to branch parry (on a ranger), it gets to be quite incredible. How many times is anyone going to get AI strength on an HG ranger and branch parry?
The best role I was ever offered, but turned down, was as a Mul Byn slave. I regret that, because the opportunity did not repeat, when Byn came under different management.

There was a few really smart half-giants in Darksun. I think it's ridiculous that they roll 1d4 on int. I think in DS it was like a normal roll with -4 int. So you could roll max 16 int which is actually pretty smart compared to the max of I think 30 in the D&D world.

Stored and amazing character who was well written up and had awesome stats today.
I won't make another until Nyr is no longer a part of ArmageddonMUD.

Sorry to hear Kronibas.
And sad to say, I think at this rate, Armegeddon will have to all but actually die before you'll ever separate Nyr from it.
I personally waiting for another half decent RPI to crop up, ArmMud is kill.

And adhira. Remeber, they make decisions by 'consensus' so Joffnyr isn't the exception

I just make my characters do really stupid shit when I am tired of playing them. I don't suicide per se, but I adventure. Hmm whats north of mantis valley. I'm a badass 30 days played whatever and I have badasses with me. Lets see what happens. Usually death. there is always something or things more badass than you. Storage isn't for me. I stored 2 characters and it took a week. There is way more fun to be had. There is always an Ic reason to do explore or need something rare that can only be found in x. Travel to different elemental plains to see what is there. Look for the void, look for vivadu ect. Climb on top of the volcano, which got teleported or something now...idk.
