Can only shake my head at that. Where did the beef start, a cesspool of a political thread or something about the game? basically i was of the opinion occupy wallstreet was an immature movement that would accomplish nothing and if they wanted to be taken seriously they should at least look at the tea party for an example of a fringe political group doing it right by holding solid rallies and getting elected officials into office. i think time proved me right on that one.

We're getting very far off-topic. i double-blame lulz. Possibly triple blame. basically i was of the opinion occupy wallstreet was an immature movement that would accomplish nothing and if they wanted to be taken seriously they should at least look at the tea party for an example of a fringe political group doing it right by holding solid rallies and getting elected officials into office. i think time proved me right on that one. if by 'looking at the tea party' you mean 'getting astroturfed by the koch brothers & co' i don't think that it was ever in the cards. i don't disagree that ows was infantile tho. This is the political thread. I would first like to welcome everyone and say that if your post doesn't contain at least one link. Then you be talking gibberish! This is an argument on the internet and as such we are bound by the burden of proof. Otherwise anyone of us could be Obama or that Canadian Toronto Mayor who does crack but gets re-elected constantly and almost certainly one of us is Ron Paul.
Air out your grievances and thoughts, go!

The Koch brothers are supporting the neocons, not the tea party. Youre mixing political associations. check yr facts m8I read your article and the main article it credited with connecting the dots. neither of them actually demonstrated that the Koch brothers were bankrolling the Tea Party. your article mostly rambles endlessly about the Koch brothers; there's a grand total of one sentence where the author actually attempts to make a connection between them and the Tea party himself which is: "The other major sponsor of the Tea Party movement is Dick Armey’s FreedomWorks, which, like Americans for Prosperity, is promoting events in Washington this weekend." How it "sponsors" a headless, centerless movement like the Tea Party was never explained. There are a few sentences where he talks about connections another article made as if they were gosphel, but claiming someone else" proved it" isn't proof of anything. so let's talk about the article he cited... The Covert Operations article the jackass you linked me to invoked makes the Americans for prosperity connection he viewed as proven. Like the original article, the linked one is mostly rambling fluff about the koch bros with very little effort made to actually prove (too strong a word) suggest their financial connection to the tea party. The Koch brothers donated money to AfP, and some Tea Party activists attended political summits AfP put on. There were also mentions of AfP attempting to appeal to and offer direction for Tea party activists. Basically there was a fuckton of "AfP did X to try and influence the tea party" which has fuckall to do with funding them. in fact, what i didnt see, anywhere, was any suggestion of how the tea party was receiving financial support. Or anything of any value, for that matter. i will no longer waste time following links you present instead of your own arguments. i have been left with the impression you just googled "koch brothers fun tea party" and threw the first link at me you found without reading the article. To be fair to you, though, i am not convinced theyre not funded by the koch brothers. so I will give whatever future argument you have on that matter a fair shake, as long as it amounts to more than throwing a link at me and then washing your hands of the matter. Id like to say it was open-mindedness, but mainly I don't care if they're funding the tea party in some way or not. Im interested in facts, and i haven't seen anything to suggest its actually happening beyond speculation from incompetent reporters journalists political hack op-ed writers.

Barring this one time, I never do this in online discourse, but I feel it must be done here:
THIS IS AN ONLINE FORUM DESIGNED TO DISCUSS A GAME SOME PEOPLE REFUSE TO PLAY ANYMORE AND OTHERS STILL PLAY YET ARE LANGUISHING IN THE METAPHORICAL YOKE OF OPPRESSION HANDED DOWN BY THE ADMINISTRATORS; THEIR IMAGINATION HAS BEEN STYMIED AND THEY NEED AN OUTLET TO VENT THEIR FRUSTRATIONS.
SPECIFICALLY, THIS THREAD IS FOR DISCUSSING THE RIDICULOUS THINGS NYR SAYS. IT IS NOT ABOUT POLITICS. CHRIST, ONE SHOULDN'T EVEN BE DISCUSSING POLITICS ON THE INTERNET IN THE FIRST PLACE. WHY? BECAUSE OPINIONS ARE LIKE ASSHOLES, AND NO MATTER WHAT YOU SAY YOU'RE NOT GOING TO CHANGE THE MIND OF THE OTHER PERSON WHO IS MOST LIKELY RESTING COMFORTABLY IN THE CONFINES OF THEIR HOME/APARTMENT/WHAT-THE-FUCK-EVER.
LET'S EITHER A) SPLIT THE BULLSHIT TANGENT OFF INTO ANOTHER THREAD B) STOP TALKING ABOUT POLITICS ON A FUCKING FORUM OR C) KILL OURSELVES, BECAUSE IF THIS IS WHAT HUMANITY HAS TO OFFER THEN JESUS HAROLD TITTY FUCKING CHRIST, I'M NOT ENTIRELY SOLD ON THE NOTION THAT LIVING IS A VIABLE OPTION ANYMORE.
THIS IS RIDICULOUS. IT'S SILLY I'M HAVING TO MAKE AN ASS OUT OF MYSELF RIGHT NOW BY USING ALL CAPS. IS THERE REALLY ANY OTHER WAY FOR ME TO GET MY POINT ACROSS THOUGH? STOP TALKING ABOUT POLITICS ON THE INTERNET. GOD-DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMNIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT. YOU WON'T SOLVE ANYTHING.
SHUT. THE. FUCK. UP. ALREADY. ABOUT. POLITICS.
OH AND ALSO:
STOP. DERAILING. THIS. FUCKING. THREAD.
I LOVE THIS THREAD.
IT'S A GREAT THREAD.
BECAUSE WE GET TO MAKE FUN OF THE INTERNET'S RESIDENT GINGER.
NYR EMBODIES EVERYTHING WE HATE ABOUT ARMAGEDDON CURRENTLY.
LET'S FOCUS ON THE TASK AT HAND AND NOT SOIL THIS THREAD WITH INANE DIATRIBES THAT NO ONE READS BECAUSE THEY'RE TOO BUSY SPOUTING THEIR OWN COGNITIVE DISSONANCE INTO A VACUUM.
NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU HAVE TO SAY ABOUT POLITICS.
YOU AREN'T AS SMART AS YOU THINK YOU ARE.
TRUST ME, YOU AREN'T.
IF YOU WERE, YOU'D BE ONE OF THE ELITE, BUT YOU'RE NOT, SO EAT MY ASSHOLE AND FUCK OFF.
PLEASE, FOR MY SANITY IF NOTHING ELSE: KINDLY SHUT THE FUCK UP, ALL OF YOU.
That was highly cathartic.

Everyone assumes I voted Romney when I slam the ACA. Everyone assumes I voted Obama when I talk about how backward the idea of someone trying to legislate someone else's BODY is. I'm green party, more than anything else, but will more often than not just call myself an independent. Obligatory link to the green party platform's info: www.gp.org/what-we-believe/our-platformDems and Republicans are just different sides of the same war-mongering, rhetoric-spouting, corporation-bankrolled, corrupt coin in my eyes, and I refuse to vote for one unless they have a voting history that shows they side with their constituents before their own personal beliefs, because that is what an elected representative should be doing. Representing. Not deciding.
