While I appreciate the RP and agree with the logic, it still requires staff intervention that you can guarantee in 99.9% of cases isn't going to happen without the desired RP AND your plot being something staff wants, which is kinda my point about it being a very arbitrary and OOC limitation.

Looking at the that thread, a few have dared venture some opposition. How long until they get slapped down? what r they saying, and how direct r they being i predict that if theyre bitching about how any of the spies could get away with it (my first question), the imms will probably find some way to make the mindbending templars that are left store/die/get retro'd so that they can admit that they deliberately allowed things to happen oocly but now since there are no mindbenders left that that was a one-time exception and that 'itt won't ever happen again' the derp is strong in them

The issue is that this wouldn't have been remotely possible for a "normal" player. It was wildly unrealistic and provides yet another shining example of how Armageddon has become a game that exists for the benefit of the selectively handpicked handful of players who are allowed to matter while the rest of the playerbase might as well not exist. It's becoming a game where you basically can't do anything unless you get on staff's list of favored individuals, whereupon you'll be allowed to do ridiculous and unreasonable things that make it impossible to take the game world seriously.
Tuluk unknowingly harboring such high-profile spies would be akin to a Russian KGB agent working at the Pentagon and blogging daily about his espionage. It's such an unrealistic and ridiculous idea, yet it's basically the standard for Armageddon these days. Even if you were somehow able to play a legitimate spy in Tuluk and avoid suspicion from the other players, staff would just put an end to it if you're not on their list of pre-approved (and very short) list of Players Who Are Allowed To Matter.
If there was at least something to do for the rest of the players, this might have been marginally tolerable. Unfortunately, as we all know, there has been absolutely nothing going on for the common player for years and the game is a fucking bore if you want to do anything outside of cliquish invite-only plots.
