1.Warriors get a strength bonus. Throw gets bonuses from strength. Also, Throw is capped higher then archery for warriors. Throw can also knock people down/off mounts.
2. Certain throwing items like the mantis throwing stars fly back on misses. It only happens with master throwers though, basically.
3. You can max throw off stilt lizards. It goes up by more then 1 point on a skill up. Even at max throw, with a decent agility, you will still be about 50-50 on hitting stilt lizards. As a warrior that is.
4. Basically anything that weighs one stone, because you're going to want more then just one. Also, the best ones are ones you can poison. Spears/javelins are probably the best, but they're heavy for throwing weapons. Raptor-tooth knives are easy to get, and they're one of the best throwing weapons.
5.They work like any other thrown weapon, or are you talking about playing darts? Playing darts aren't flagged as weapons.
6.Bolas and spears work like every other throwing weapon. I'll note that heavier throwing weapons tend to knock down more often then lighter throwing weapons. Bolas are heavy. Spears are heavier too, but you can also poison them so they're better.
At really high skill levels (burglar levels) throw is basically ranged backstab/bash, in terms of effect.

Bolas can also knock people out if you're strong enough or do massive stun damage.

Hello! Are they like other combat skills where you need multiple fails within a skillup period to get the boost or are they like other skills, where once you get your fail hold off for the length of your timer? Skills all work with the same formula for skilling up. Combat skills aren't special. The only difference is how much skills go up by on a skill up. Weapon skills raise by tiny amounts. Crafting skills usually raise by a full point. Chance to skill up on failure goes down as the skill goes up. At low skill levels you only need one or two failures before you get a skill up. At high skill levels you might need 5 failures. At really high skill levels you need like 10. Bolas can also knock people out if you're strong enough or do massive stun damage. Yeah I forgot about this. Since bolas are bludgeoning weapons they do stun damage.

Anyone know how much damage a hit to the neck from a heavy weapon (spear) from a extremely good strength human would do to a PC? Only reason I'm asking is that I figure even if you knock someone down, you might get just one or two additional throws in total before you need to run or they do.
On a side note, with archery its 50-60 hp if you hit the neck I think? Assuming you have gloves, bracer, and max archery. And factoring in how much armor they have on their neck now too i believe. And if its a human with high agility shooting at another human with high agility hits to the neck aren't really guaranteed either right? Especially the farther away you are shooting? In which case a hit to the body or other non vital parts do about 25-30 hp damage?

If you shoot at a guy, you're doing so quickly. So that 30hp adds up. With throwing, it's not so different. Your spears are poisoned, and you're throwing them till he falls down. Once that happens, you get to decide whether to close in for melee before he can get up and remount, or if you want to wait till he stands and chuck another. That is to say, if it's PVP with ranged weapons, you aren't pausing to toss stuff out like "The golden-haired, lissome elf elegantly pulls his black-fletched arrow from his chitin-plated quiver, riding his obsidian tower shield down a flight of stairs" or whatever. If you want to win, you're just shooting/throwing...and paying enough attention to know when you need to get the hell out of your current room, preferably by sneaking. If they have time to flee and they manage to make it to a safe location before you start pelting them again, you're doing something wrong.

With archery, if you hit a PC in the neck and their HP is under 100, you can one hit kill them (this is a rare feat). Damage depends on what armor they have, what arrows you use and the bow and strength. Gloves, bracers and skill probably only reference hit locations. This is all speculation though. And if you wear two archer bracers you look like a douche.
