Not sure how many people here are banned, or even care to play anymore, but figured I'd pass on the details of the "Ban Amnesty" posted in the GDB, in case anyone genuinely DOES want to play that feels they were banned in the past for some crazy reason or something.
The Producers of ArmageddonMUD have decided to offer a period of amnesty for previously banned players.
If you (or someone you know) might be in this position, please contact producers@armageddon.org with your account name and a few other details like why you feel you should be allowed to play.

It's interesting to say the least. However once the wounds of the past are opened up it's hard to close or forget about them. Good luck to anyone who embraces this offer.

Well in terms of the numbers the pbase has always seemed the same to me.
In terms of quality... maybe? From the people I see it seems pretty steady too.
I'm hoping its that they just realized (finally) that people were banned in the past for retarded reasons.

Considering the mud is in the top 10 most weeks, I doubt the pbase has declined. If anything, it's probably remained consistent over the past few years with old players leaving and new players starting. I know I took several half-year breaks, but always ended up coming back after getting tired of whatever game I was currently playing.
The bamnesty seems like a cry to bring back some players who may have been burned in the past. Swelling the numbers of players in the game before whatever it is they're planning for those special special apps is probably the focus here. I imagine it will be a massive RPT, where something is world shaking.

Derail: At least with this new theorized plan they are using players to drive it, so its not as bad as just having staff push things as usual. Even if the staff is pushing those players.

I agree it is nice to see staff take the reins sometimes when it comes to larger plots. I grew oh so tired of only player driven plots, because it felt like nine times out of ten they weren't all that game changing, or had little impact on other players. Give me another volcano, or a vampire cult, or whatever.

The pbase has gone soo far downhill that people like your friends can be on staff?
Or your friend (who is not a shitty player) is on staff and is attesting to the quality of the players?
