Yeah, piercing and stabs land to the back if the victim is critically wounded. It sounds as if Met meant to say (I'm translating from Bubonics here) that if someone is subdued, you can STILL stab them in the back, much like you can if they are critically wounded.
Nevermind, looks like he edited that, fairly certain now that's what he meant.

Piercing/stabbing is back, slashing and chopping is neck, bludg is head.

Ishahan-poo got it.
I couldn't remember if piercing also hit the back or not, like stabbing does. It seems like it does.
In combat I think piercing/stabbing hit the neck.
