Dredd was pretty cool if you walk into it with the same attitude as transformers or GI Joe - watching shit get fucked up in CGI. I liked Looper but the ending was pretty predictable because it's the only way of ending a time travel movie without having the audience scratching their heads.

I disagree a little with comparing Dredd to Transformers or GI Joe, if only because the acting was spot on. With regard to the CGI, I didn't think there was anything too over-the-top. Just like the damned comic books! If only more people had seen this flick.  |

Even though Oldboy was really messed up, I think that hallway fight scene is my second best fight scene in a movie ever.
#1 is the 2nd version of the robbery from Akira kurosawa's Rashomon.

Elysium was great. Shartlo stole the fucking show. Also anyone who says it has racial or immigration undertones is an idiot. Its predictive science fiction, nothing more, nothing less. And its amazing.

Just finished watching Oblivion on XBOX and it's pretty damned good. You could call most of it ahead of time or as it was coming, but it delivered. I thought I'd wind up thinking it was about a 5 on a 1-10 scale. I'd give it a solid 7 or 8.

Oblivion had quite a bit of illuminati/esoteric symbolism. It had a very pro-human message, which was nice. Great soundtrack.

I can't say this enough: Please watch "The Act of Killing". It should have won a damn oscar. The scene with Anwar Congo staring off into the darkness of the water as he speaks to Oppenheimer (director) is chilling. Hell, the whole movie is chilling.
