Ah, I haven't paid any mind to templar ranks since I left staff since any templar is better than my commoner, etc. I just know what it was in 2010-11 when I was on staff.

Yeah. I remember what nobodyatall is referring to. which is how templars were back before I left the game. Dunno when they got changed. But it sounds like it was sometime after I left and sometime before you were on staff.

Oh hell. We didnt even get to the shit about the Tan Muark originally having a dedicated staffer as their goddess or how Luir changed careers after being buried alive and became a psionic entity that replaced a mantis hive mind yet.

Or how Tek is actually Tek's father through a confusing series of events where Tektolnes (who was himself a eugenics experiment to be superawesomemagic) turned his father into a living skull, and was going to destroy him, but fucked it up and then his father replaced him but didn't tell anyone, so now he rules, and Tektolnes the younger is currently a skull in the tower.
Which.. I mean why not tell the players that sort of thing? It will literally never be found out until staffers quit/get fired, and it has no effect on the gameworld at all at any point.

I thought someone said Muk Utep had a mummified head of his father too. Why do they both do that?
And which dragon was it that Muk Utep fought and what happened there? As in where did he go?

Since there is no actual tower for us to go up into... Y^s I agree! If, and when, the coded tower appears to the game world, well... that's a different story! Mayham +++++++

The tower is from DS. Tyr had a sorcerer-king Kalak who had a golden tower.

Actually, white robes are the bottom rank. They do very common tasks, like the white robed templar mount seller that sells mounts to people in the bazaar. Jade robes are not mindless. In fact, the opposite. There are 2 jade robes. one was a pc noble, the other is tek's daughter, who has the full skill tree for both magick AND psionics, and has a note that when she's animated, she's to be treated as HYPERaware of everything. So... White is the errand boys of the templarate. Blue is the shift managers. Red are the Assistant Managers. Black are the store managers. Jade are only 2, and totally outside of the dynamic, but would rank somewhere around red robes. Not entirely true. The white robes are part of an ancient conspiracy dating back before the city-states, or early in their lifetime to create powerful sorcs/psions/whatever with eugenics. Tektolnes himself was one experiment, which is why they venerate him so much. I've forgotten what their SECRET name is, but they also control the noble marriage contracts and such, in order to maintain their eugenics experiment on an almost geological time scale. This same conspiracy may/may not have created Muk Utep as well, and is certainly present in Tuluk, at least sometimes.

This same conspiracy may/may not have created Muk Utep as well, and is certainly present in Tuluk, at least sometimes. It's worth remembering Allanak's secret history and templarate have been repeatedly retconned. what is correct today will be nonsense tomorrow. For example. Back in the Long Long Ago the official templar docs were entirely bad ass. i was seriously impressed with them. i have no idea if this is still accurate but... Membership in the templarate came from two sources. The first was anyone with enough money to get their kid in the program. i mean what did it matter since the child would be indoctrinated and probably mindbent a little long before they were terrifying Gaj-dwellers? So it was conceivably canon for there to be a Lord Templar Somesuch Kurac responsible for busting Kuraci spice smugglers. And he most likely do so with gusto to prove his worthiness to the Highlord. The second source group was even more interesting. Templars were also recruited from captured sorcerers and mindbenders given the Join Or Die option. i dont recall if it was outright said or merly implied they got the absolute shit bent out of their minds by the Ministry of the Mind. But I'd be amazed if they didn't explicitly use mindbending to recondition these new assets. I have vague memories of the mindbenders having a 50% chance of being turned into vegetables. So I am thinking it was explicitly stated. if my damned external hard drive ever works again Ill be able to double check that. The second source was backstory-onlu type stuff. so dont get your past-hopes up. But. The point is... Lady Templar Ironfist Sath? The one who was currently threatening to set yuo on fire unless you rat out the Guild? in her backstory she might have originally been the dreaded defiler Soloplaya, the Desert Scourge. Prior to being kidnapped, recruited, and mindbent into a mostly new person. and if you paid attention to her mdesc you might note how little she resembles a noble outside of being clean.

As of 2010, it was noble born and those bought in, in the south
In the north, noble born, and baby psion females were brought into the lirathans if found young, from amidst the psions of the known. there was a fang-braided lirathan who was actually allanaki.
