Watching is something I very rarely find myself doing. Can anyone give instances where they have used it, maybe to great effect? does leveling this skill actually do much in terms of usefulness? Presumably there isn't some kind of hidden skill for the enacting of hemotes which decreases the other people's chance of detecting with/without watch on? Also and funny moments from using the watch skill would be awesome ^.^

Immediately watch him and if talks go south, you have a better chance of avoiding his master backstab. That's about all I can throw your way, sorry, heheh.

Knowing when someone isn't being truthful (if they're the sort to indicate it through hemotes), or when someone is sneaking in or out of a distant room can be extremely useful.
You're out with a couple buddies and Ranger-Raider-Guy suddenly snipes one in the neck? Watch that direction real quick, you might get an idea of where he ran off to between hides.

Plus watching a person is useful for hunting/chasing them. If you watch someone who you think is going to bolt, they can run to the other side of the Known and back, and the minute they come within 3 screens of you you'll get a "Far to the North: So-and-so has arrived from the west."
In terms of skill, you don't really need it to be useful (except maybe for backstab thwarting.) The best way I've heard to grind this skill is to watch people who're sparring, because they'll frequently assess one another, which can lead to fails.
